hear those screams of pain?

those cries for mercy?

...that my friends is the sound of 'freedom'!

the song of democracy!

let its sweet music fill the heads of the idgets that thought this was a good idea.

The more I see of the Iraq mess and the people of the region in general I think you are right about being a mistake....not because of the WMD mess but because these people don't deserve to be free and will never be democratic. We are wasting money and lives to help a people that are so backward and messed up that we could stay for 1,000 years and not change their ways. Atleast we could Annex part of the country and set up a fancy new air base or ballistic missle emplacement and take over the oil fields...that I could understand. But to save these people? NO...Like in Sudan and Palestine and Syria and Iran...let's just get out of the way and let them annihilate each other all by themselves. Bring all our boys home from all over the mideast and Europe and let those who live in the area sort it out.

Unfortunately there are lots of places on earth that have not progressed for centuries. I am not sure we can save them all. We have tried for a long time to make things better for a lot of peoples around the world but in doing so I think we also make things worse many times.

We will reap what we have sown. Remember that Sadam was our friend in the Regan era. He was our guy in the region. I think there may even be a picture of Bush 41 with Sadam when were selling them arms to use against Iran. Prior to the worlds dependency on oil their countrys were of little use to us. If we could reduce our need for foreign oil then we would have little need for them again and they would go back to their tribal ways..ie 13th century conditions. Why do you get a bigger tax break if we buy a Hummer or Excursion then if you buy an alternative fuel viechel? Answer ; The larger viechels use more oil and increase our dependence on foreign oil therefore we can justify our defense of the source. If we were to really pay the true cost of that oil not to many could afford it. Current cost of crude doesn't include the cost to defend the oil fields nor all the other cost involved not to mention the cost in human lives.
