FDR's "New Deal" was pre WWII king... and remember what was happening to the country at that time... a little thing historians like to call "The great depression". Back then... it was either deficits or breadlines. Today it's deficits or healthcare, cheaper gasoline, lower unemployment, more vigorous stock market etc...

SSF, I couldn't agree with you more. It's a sham that the republicans choose to mortgage our future on a mistake (Iraq) and the selfish and greedy (that could care less that they are punishing their own kids and grandkids with this burden and debt) march in lock step like blind sheep for Bushes tax bribes. Toss um a bone (a few nickels and dimes) and they will sell their kids futures down the road. The little money received in tax cuts get swallowed up by Bush interest like Enron's and Big Oil. Oil=$53/barrel
