I believe you. Limiting out on one cast kinda sucks though when fish are rolling all around you.

I'm going out on a limb and quessing that the preseason estimate will be low by 30%. The general rule for the runs this year has been late and more than expected. If the Skok is following that trend then we are not at the halfway point yet. Possibly good numbers coming into the system all the way into the Sept closure. Just a guess but I'm thinking a return of about 16k-18k kings this year.

jez, I love this crap. In California combat fisheries and there are plenty, just ask salmonella. The guys who really have it going on let there actions do the talking. The only thing you need to say is "fish on, coming down" and if you say just that often enough people start to recognize you. Someday it would be fun to time my trips up there right to see if it is the same gig there. and really see who is who at the zoo

Very true Parker... In my neck of the woods the fresh ones are just about done. Sure, there are summer fish all the way up til mid-november but the fresh chromies just seem to fight harder and get airborn more than the older fish.

My help is gone for 2 weeks, otherwise I'd be out chasing those steelhead too. Since the skok is 5 min. away I'm stuck going out there.

We just picked up one of these the other day. A brand new Bradley Smoker.
We cant wait to get some filets in there and try it out.
