Today's flow has gone from 8000 CFS this morning, to 34,000+ this evening...expected to hit flood stage tomorrow AM, cresting at over 36 feet by Wed. (Of course, it doesn't actually "crest" till it quits raining!)

The folks living in Hamilton and Cape Horn may need sandbagging help tomorrow...these floods over the 30 foot level cause too dang much proerty damage down there.

Wife and I are snug here unless it hits 55 feet+...and that ain't gonna happen. Sure should be some fresh fish in the sytem once this water drops! (Gotta look for the good out of the bad situation)

Mike

Mike, did you get to float your new toy before the rains?

Cool. That should make this little wait for high water to recede more tolerable.

Take a look at KING5 Weathernet for Amanda Park. Look at the "historic" rainfall.

Yesterday was 12.20 inches.

http://www.instaweather.com/KING/default.asp?cid=92&id=AMANP

Pretty nice today with just a little rain. So far only 3 1/2 inches. Not bad. (If yer a freakin duck!)

I left the plug (Duh) in the Driftabago Sunday night. Had it hooked up ready to go. When I figured out I wasn't fishing I tried to take the trailer off the Bronco. Wouldn't budge? It was half full of water! Took 15 minutes just to get enough water out so I could move it.

If you are the wiseass doing the Rain Dance, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please stop!

(First trip I got the obligatory, virgin deflowering, &^*%# scratches out of the way..had to get out and drag it off of a bar.. \:\( \:\( ..(I don't mind the bottom scratches..heck, that's what it's built for...but the one on the side of the boat above the chine made me ill to see ) .but GVbest and I didn't find any fish.)

yep, i vividly remember the first scratches on my new driftboat. all that money and first time out big diggers on the bottom and some on the sides. enough to make a grown man cry. that was ten years ago. oh well time for a new one. i keep telling the wife this is my practice boat. someday she will let me have a new one or i am going to have to scuttle her.

Mike,

I'm glad to hear that your house is safe. I was getting worried for a bit. The Raging crested this morning in front of our house with no problems as well. Hopefully the rains will slow enough to let the rivers receed a bit before getting heavy again.

SOL:

The beauty of a glass boat is scratches like this get a thin bead of blended gelcoat applied, a little buffing in 24 hrs., and no one will know the scratch was ever there..:-) (I hope).

Gary:

Glad to hear your all safe. We are on high bank, so are pretty much safe from anything less than a 55 foot level here. You might recall I showed you where the Oct. 04 flood was on those cedar's? That is 15' below the house level. If we get flooded, the towns of Marblemount, Rockport and most of Concrete will be under water first (and that would really stink because it would mean the dams were blown out!)

Off to Spokane tomorrow...work sucks, but the rivers blown bills gotta be paid.

Snake,

I too live in Fall City. I'm about a mile up the Raging from the mouth. I couldn't believe how high the Sno was when I came home tonight. I sure feel for the people down river. They are really getting hit hard this time.

Mike,

Drive Safe! Give me a shout when you get back. Maybe we can get the sled on the Skagit in the next couple weeks.

Todd:,

Yep, it came right up late last night. 2 feet over flood stage this morning, but it looks like it is going to level off for a bit.

Gary: This was an unplanned trip over to Spokane. Cust called late yesterday, said I just had to be there today...so I'm flying, not driving...be back tonight. (and I don't care for flying)
