We are going to be taking a small sled on the duc this weekend. I just bought a new little 14' with a 40 hp yamaha.

I believe you may find some "resistance" to putting a motorized boat on the Duc.

Oh..it's legal all right...but as far as I know, just not something that people do...

shouldnt be a problem..... just bring a welding torch to put the trailer back together.... and maybe a couple stout garbage can lids to help block potatoes traveling at high velocity.

I think it would be fun to see a 14' sled take on the Duc's rapids. You could probably sell tickets if there was convenient viewing at the best rapids. Of course, to crank up the excitement factor, Sky#er should be handcuffed to the boat to make a PFD irrelevant. Then add paramutuel betting on the outcome . . .

We could televise it, too. Like the hill climbing snowmoblers that go out of control and take-out a half dozen spectators.

I'd like to see it, but I heard that safeway had wild, line caught chinook on sale for 39/pound until friday,so I,ll be in line!

Don't get me wrong, I'd watch it too. Especially if Daisy Duke would come sit in my lap. Maybe Bo and Luke could jump the Sol Duc in the General Lee during the half time show.

Can we use spud/water cannons for ifin they are a little slow comin up them rapids?
I think we can borrow them kayak gates off the cedar river to make it more fun.

The spud cannon is mounted on the deck and ready for some onshore "trolling".

If you'd like to discuss the issue seriously ... it has been brought up at the OP Guides' Association meeting and there are plans to go the county regarding a ban on motors throughout most of the rivers

It's too bad you guys all feel that way...I was going to run my 21 foot Woolridge up the Bogie this weekend, but I messed up the pump running it up the upper Wynoochee on Sunday.

All the fishermen I saw seemed to approve, they all were telling me that I was "number 1"!!

Just kidding...I never was much of a troller...I'm better at casting and jigging!
