I would appreciate any help from you jet boat owners. How have you mounted your cooler to the rear platform on the back of your jet boat. I have a 19' Duckworth Advantage with a jet and a 3/4 platform on the back. Here is a link to a pic of the platform. http://pub.cosper.us/cooler.jpg
I have strapped it down with 2 ratchet tie downs in the past, but the tie downs will slip. I would like a better way to mount it. I would still like to be able to remove the cooler easily because I don't take it on every trip.

I am new to the board and would like to say hello to everyone.

Thanks for your help.

I've mounted several coolers on the swim steps of different boats I've owned and it's pretty easy. Put eyebolts through both handles, then eyebolts through the swimstep just below the handles and connect them with turnbuckles, makes it easy to take off and put back on and looks pretty good too.

Hello and welcome Dawgsled,
I'm rather new here too. My cooler is secured by hardware mid pt each end of cooler, half screwed into the cooler, other half on the swim step. Holes line up in each half for a pin and cotter (sp) pin holds it in place. Works well. Igloo sells the plastic corners and bungies for hold down ability. I have the corners permenantly on the swim step and the bungies hold the wood handles from flopping. It's easy if you're careful the bracket lines up well when installing. Nice looking boat BTW.

Its very easy, Either go to the NorthRiver store in Tacoma ask for Tim Or Ray Or call the Portland store ask for Jill and have them ship A cooler mounting kit with all the stainless hardware to mount it yourself. Looks great lasts long time and you pull 2 pins and you have your cooler in your hands......Ron

Check out this link--some great pics here of how others have done it.

Mounting a Cooler

I think a ratchet strap works just fine, but what the hell do I know?

The pics show in the above link show a North River and how they factory mount thier cooler. I have one and thisnk it is a great way to do it. When ther is a need to use the swim platform for the kids, htere are no sharp points left.

Great way to go.

Most Marine Stores have mounting hardware for coolers.
