The fellas at Leelock anchor systems made me up a couple of releases for my boats recently.

I finally have got a chance to use both and I have to say that these things are the shiiiiat ;\)

Very impressed with both units.

Here is the side pulley / lock mechanism they constructed for my WA boat. Much more reliable than the clam cleat system that most have. We changed the angle a little bit over the Dierks stuff that was available to the boat's centerline (increased angle), so you get a better angle to pull at with lighter contact on the lock mechanism vs. retrofitting a standard pulley with a drop lock.

Here are a couple of pictures:

I also had them make me a rear release / bracket for my AK boat. The angle of the stern on the 21 foot drifter is far closer to 90 degrees to the water than a standard driftboat and normal brackets had the pulley end high in the air with the cleat well below making them difficult to set easily. They special built this one to fit the angle and it works like a dream!!!

Here are some pix of that unit ... yes, I know my mounting bolt on the top is too long, it was all I had laying around until I get into town \:\)

If you'd like to get any info on their systems, please contact Eric at Leelock at 360-380-1864 \:\)

Those guys made me a special one for my Lavro and I love it. I don't have to worry any more about the anchor popping out of the lock in fast water. It saves me a few second when pulling and engaging the anchor as well.

Definitely a big improvement in the saftey department CraigO. I always use a similar system, but never had a rear bracket that worked well on my big drifter's butt end ... just too steep for the Dierks bracket to allow to drop stop to work as easily as I would have liked.

With the custom one in place, it works perfectly and the more I 've used it now in recent days since putting it on, the more I love it and happy they made one up for me!!

Nice, but a question, Bob. That looks to be blocks of stainless for the rope lock, do you flip it over to let the rope out and then flip it back to lock it?? Especially on the rear mount of your big boat, it would seem you would have to be turned around to let out rope, correct?

I like it, very sturdy!

In an emergency can you release the rope someway so it will come out of the release in case you have to abandon the anchor quickly? Thats a sweet piece of equipment.

To let the rope out, you simply keep a little upward tension so it slides through the block. I'll shoot a short little vid to show you \:\)

As with most anchor releases, you should always keep a knife handy to cut rope if need be, but the beauty of the system is that rope can't accidently slide out unless you want it to, so there should never be a need \:\)
