Got a late start... Dropped Mini DR off at school and launched in Gig Harbor.

Fished the Slag Pile down to Owens Beach at various depths from 100-180'. Very little bait showing on the sonar.

Shot over to Neill Point and started working the shallow water. Finally found the bait and a few fish out in the deep stuff.

Nailed this chunky little 9# hen bouncing the ball at 187' of water. 3" hootchy tied Slam Dunk style on 60# floro and a custom chartruese/glow flasher.

Shortly after this fish, I lost a nice one in the mid teens. Threw the hooks close to the boat and the flasher decapitated my custom rod at the tip!

Finally back on the water... Now that I am retired, I have all summer to play around!

Thanks for the report and details. Can you explain how to tie a hootchie "Slam Dunk" style?

Jeff

That would either be " Fired up for the weekend" or "Fired for the week"

Went out last night 6/9. Fished Neil Point and the Clay Banks. Got out done by a seal that was flopping around with a nice salmon. No fish and lost a down rigger ball when I hit a kink in the cable lowering it down. That makes three balls and one rod and reel I've donated to the bottom of the Sound.
