Natives have been running their nets on the Nisqually. Still empty.

Used to fish the Nasty consistently prior to my move to Okanogan 3 years ago. Still make it back in Aug/Sep for the kings and Dec for the chum. The indian net schedule hasn't changed; in on Sunday and out on Wednesday. This begins the beginning of July; whether there are fish in or not, and does not stop until the chum run is over. Generally I would fish the green can and the lower reaches (below I-5) in August and from September on Muck Creek up to the bridge (Ft Lewis area). In this river, bottom bouncing has always been the most productive for me. Anticipate being there mid Aug to fish and visit the folks in Yelm. Tight lines to all my buds on the Nasty.....Tom

i did not know that, but it explains why i didn't see any fish the last couple years. but its kinda sad that where i went to test out my eggs cures before i used them on actual rivers. oh well.

I believe this is the fourth year since the Mac Creek Hatchery shut down (unless I lost a year there somewhere). The limit should still be six adults if WDFW is still expecting returns from hatchery program. After that, expect a no native rule since there will still be fish returning but the Indians will most likely clean them out in short order.

I'd be willing to wager a bet that Stlhdr1 pull out his first fall nook on either Weds or Thurs in his favorite SW river.

Not open to the retention of unclipped fish until Aug 1, but we always seem to pop one a couple of days before it opens.

I'd bet the 'sack has some kingers in it now.
