Two of us fished Edmonds to the Shipwreck. VERY slow. We had two strikes in six hours. Saw only two small coho netted, out of all the tons of boats out there.
We will back at it tomorrow. I think any decent sized coho should get a prize, unless it was a lot better somehwere else.

My boat went 6-7 with two 9's, a 7, a 6, and two 5's mainly from PNP, Double Bluff, then Picnic point later in the day. Long day today...I have been sleeping since I got home, going back to bed now to get ready for the 4:45 buzzer. Need more Ibuprofren & Tums. The room wont stop moving....someone hold it still for me please!

Limits both days for the two of us but all between 6 and 8. I didn't bother to enter one and I'm probably being drawn for the boat right now since I'm not there.

We limited today but nothing of any size. Entered our fish for hidden weight prize but were too tired to stay for drawing.
Our best rig was a cut plug herring at 65 feet.

Fished yesterday and today around the oil docks and up to edmonds. Saturday caught one fish 5lb, lost a few others to broken leaders.
Sunday, 4 fish to the boat two @ 8 1/2#, two 5's. Fast troll, morning 60ft cable out, working down to 110 as mid day approached. Saw loads of fish caught fish checker counted 125 coho/60 boats. Coho Killer worked best.

A buddy of mine picked up an 11.5 pounder today, which was good enough for around 65th place. Ended up a with a nice Ambasseduer (sp?) spinning reel for the prize. I wasn't there, but he said if you had a fish over 8lb, you won something.

I understood Mark to announce there was a prize for the largest fish landed in an Alumaweld. A guy yelled out a 13#+. so no need to announce my 12.7. Then they pay three spots, the 13 and two 11's. Too late for me! I wish they would have the prizes listed, so there isn't confusion like that. Oh well, it's only money. Bill

Tod, Imagine the chat thats going to happen around "that" table when one brother, cousin, whomever tells the other one about loosing the boat cause "he" wanted to leave early! What are the odds of that happening ever again?

Anybody get the name of the guy who stuffed his 15 pounder with an extra pound of ice on Saturday ? Heard it from the weigh in official at the tent when we were checking in fish.

Don't the fish have to be gutted first to be weighed? Much like they do down at Westport?
Should be, if not. Gutted with the gills removed.
So, not too sure if it was posted, but what was the biggest fish? What won?

You brought them in whole. If they were over 15 obs it was gutted. Lots of rumors flying around now about the ice. Probably the whole truth will never come out.

Whole fish at the Everett derby. Largest was 18.4 or so? Either 18.1 or 18.4
We went 13-15 over two days but couldnt get into a big one. Our hookup/land ratio was good but most fish were 6-8 pounds.
Our two largest were nice fish at 9.5 and 9 pounds but nothing that would have placed high. Got a ton of nice eggos and fresh meat. Wish I had time to get back otu there this week.
Check this story out.
Sunday AM it was first light, and I was running at top speed across the the lower end of Possession bar From Edmonds up towards Scatchett head. Water is flat as a pancake and I had enough light to see dead heads or anything else on the water. Out of nowhere, the boat hits something and we all lurch forward into the windshield. We turn around to see a wall of water 7 feet high entering the boat and completely washing out the whole stern. Thought I had hit a seal or whale sleeping on the surface or something. Turns out we had hit a submerged 2x6 or piece of plywood that was laying flat on the water, dont know how long. When we hit it it flipped up sideways against the prop shaft and acted like a brake like flaps on a airplane wing, shooting water straight up at 40MPH. Triple !!!! After drying off and checking my shorts, we were under way again glad that nothing worse happened other than getting a little wet. Um, are you awake yet guys???
We skipped the weigh in as we were quite a ways out and opted to just keep fishing for our limit.
Get out there this week if you can, fishing is really good right now.
Point no Point and Picnic Point produced the best for us. 65-85 feet down on "proven"

Sky Guy, could I get any more specifics on PnP fishing? Archived material or other? I'm out of Kingston and have been working Apple Tree northward. Not too great yet. Starting early with the tide, glow hootcies with oil at 60', 8" green flasher???

Apple tree northward would take a couple hours to troll to actually get to the point. That's been dead water for me in the past, so I dont fish it. We were fishing at the point, in deep water off the point, and north of it. Fish came at 65-85 on the rigger trolled fast with either a green/glow/ Aurora/ white w green stripe hoochy and herring strip. Stay in water at least 150-200 feet deep, even deeper is better. We picked up more fish this weekend trolling hard into the tide at an angle than trolling with it.
