Lots of wets siders think all Idaho steelhead are boots.. Not always. Getting into some A-run fish that are pretty fresh

However, many have some nasty net marks. More this year than usual.

Nice looking fish B-Run. I try to fish Idaho rivers at least once a year, usually in October. Most of the fish I have caught are bright like the ones in your pics.

Nice fishies. I plan on heading out there this winter to fish for some steelhead with a buddy in pullman.

Nice Boots B-Run... Im a recent coasty transplant, learning my way through the two big steelhead rivers in ID. Steelheading is different as far as the boats used (steelhead yachts) and the monster neon red floats guys are throwing. Most of the fish ive been getting have been in good shape like the ones you have pictured. Not chrome, but pretty fresh. My buddies have been giving me hell, saying all ID fish are discolored scabs, i have to agree for the most opart, but not the sept/oct fish \:D

Pretty amazing journey for those fish... Wish they would breach the Snake dams, then we might have some chrome and maybe some Coho too

There are Clearwater B Runs that will snap 16 pound Maxima leaders like silk. October and November are great months to hit the mainstem all the way to the North Fk. The fly fishing can be fantastic. The only boots you'll find the first week of November are the ones you'll find in your butt if your gear isn't up to the job.

V-Hawk, Ive fished all over the coast and have yet to have a steelhead break 10+ Maxima at will. .(hooks usually straighten out first \:D ) ID's B-Run is a strong strain of fish but common sense and using your drag will keep the boots outa your a**.

I love them Sooooo much that I want hug and kiss and marry them. Intresting fact that your offical Washington state record steelhead was a B-run Idaho fish caught on the very same day as the Idaho record fish in 1973. It was 35 lbs.. So, as great of a steelhead state as Washington is, the biggest one ever recorded in your state was in fact, and Idaho B-run, and a summer run at that. Caught across the river from Clarkston.. Washington record fish... Ahhhh, alrighty then. :p
