The Hump was running at 9,000 CFS on Monday and looking at the gage it looks to be rising again. Huge, Huge water !! Looking more like a "whitewater rafting run" than a fishable river. We spoke to someone there on Monday afternoon that told us a driftboat had just floated by Stevens Creek.

The boat chute had a really fun looking series of waves. If you ran right down the middle you would get a lot of big waves breaking over the bow. fun, fun!

Did not hear of anyone catching anything. There were a few fish hanging around the entrance to the Stevens Creek Hatchery.

I think all the harbor rivers will have a new look to them when the water comes down. I find there are more extreme changes when there is a sustained high water.....of which the nooch, satsop and hump are experiencing right now.

They haven't followed a typical "drop" pattern if you look at the guages. For the last week its been in the trees, down a little, back up, down a little etc....with no extended drop yet.

That's OK though, I love getting on a river to re-discover new water after a flood because as often as old reliables get filled in, new honey-holes are created......keeps the juices flowing, at least for me.

The big problem is water like we have been having wipes out all the salmon reds. It is going to hurt down the road.
