Anyone ever been there? Its due east of Lake Ozette, and there doesn't seem to be any development on it. Was wondering if there's any access to it whatsoever, and If so has anyone ever fished it?

Here's what I found off of Washingtonlakes.com:

"Located 4 miles east of Lake Ozette, consult an up to date gazetteer for lumbering roads to the lake. Species unknown, 500 acres."

Not a single report either....
Sorry Irie

I know it's a phat lake, and the headwater for The Dickey river, so it's gotta have a fish in it. What I wanna know is how the hell does a guy get to it, it at all possible?

I have fished it with a friend that lives out in the Forks area. It's a bit marshy on the side we were on so it was hard to fish with spinning gear. If you had a float tube or a boat you can carry to the lake then you may have some luck. We didn't catch anything.
I can't give you any help on how to get there because my friend drove and he had some places he had to check out before we actually got to the lake. We turned at the cemetary just past the airport on the Quillayute prairie.

I woudldn't get my hopes up. I think there is a depleted run of reds/sockeye that still use it to spawn. There is a large pond past Dickey "River" toward the ocean that had planted Rainbows in it in the early 90's.

I pursuaded the locals we were with then to stop at the Dickey R. bridge long enough for me to wet a line on the way back to Forks. When they wanted to leave while I was fishing below they did a gigantic smoke show/burn-out on the wooden bridge. I got the message and hurried back up to find they had started a small fire on the bridge!

Thanks you guys. I couldn't find any info on that place anywhere.

How'd it be as a secluded spot to camp?

It was a very nice spot where we were. As I recall, subject to my fogged state at the time, we were on the west side. My friend had keys because of his job and we went thru a couple of locked gates so I'm not sure if you can get there from here without keys.

Crap. Oh well.

To bad using Acetylene to gain access is frowned upon.

You can't drive there. I have been close but not to the lake during elk season. There are lots of locked gates. That road the one guy mentioned is the 5000 line the one on the way to the airport were yu turn at the cemetary. During elk season they (big timber) keep the acess limited to give the animals a place to hide. Its vegatation is thick up there. If you look on googal earth you can see the lake but its no hidden away camping area.So thats the end of my story.
Good luck
Jason

I don't use the term Big Timber in a deragatory manner. I really appricate the ability to access these areas.
