Well we should be hearing any time now about the multi season drawing results. Officially they are suppose to be mailed out by Friday (13th) and those lucky enough to draw must buy the tag by the 29th or else it will be offered to the next in line. Say what you want about the tags, but I was drawn for the deer one last year. It was worth every penny of the $164 I paid. I spent the modern season with my Dad and hunting partner in the high county for mulies. Not finding what I wanted, I had no presure to fill the tag in the short 9 day season. I found myself killing a blacktail with my bow on Nov. 29th...

For those of you who did put in, let us know how you did. For those who didn't know the drawing deadline was already past...all I can say is the WDFW did another great job of keeping a secret that can benefit us hunters in Washington. No advertising at all, chaning the deadline from April 9 in 06 to March 31 in 07, and not updating the vendors of the difference bewteen the multi season application and the raffle ticket...my cousin bought a raffle ticket thinking he was buying a multi season application...didn't realize it until I read his reciept and pointed this out...too bad he did it on March 31 and showed me on April 1st...

I thought about it, but the cost wasn't worth the benefit to me.

I already hunt ML for deer, so I have an opportunity to hunt early and late seasons, for about a month total every year. If my primary choice was modern, I might see it as a way to increase my chances, but I still manage to score every year with my ML.

Haven't taken up the bow yet, but once we build our house, there will be an area where I can practice. That is the only thing keeping me from shooting a bow for deer & elk.

I think it is a good deal. My partner had the deer last year and after hunting the high buck with rifles and myself taking a good buck, he had the tag in his pocket while ML elk hunting in Eastern Wash. Deer overlapped and guess what? A nice muley buck provided him with a great opportunity and he took it. I'm hoping to get the elk so I can bow hunt the West side and if I don't score go shoot a cow with my AHE.

I have to admit I was disappointed when I found out I missed the deadline. I followed Dogfish's lead on hunting deer with a muzzleloader and have had plenty of time to get an animal 2 out of last 3 years. If I had known I would have applied for the elk multiseason tag.

FYI, you can call WDFW and get the results. I just called the main number (360-902-2515) and they routed me to licensing. I drew deer, but not elk. Pretty stoked about the deer, and hopefully I'll draw the elk on the re-draw.

Just found out you can also get them on the WDFW website. It is posted in the Hunting section under "Selecting Hunt Choices for Special Hunt Permit Applications". Don't ask me why they bury it there....
