So, another cat story.
Sunday, we had a bunch of people over at the house for a BBQ. My wifes niece from Spokane came and they brought their dog " Nugget" This dog is a stumpy little thing, its a Welsh Corgi and I guess they paid a bunch of money for it. Anyway, it was an O.K dog and caused no problems. They were getting ready to leave and we were out in the driveway and this dog is standing next to their car waiting to jump in. Out of nowhere, comes one of our cats " Twix" all hissing and just nailed this dog and ran under their car. We all went " wow, that cats pissed off" then look down at this massive bloody eye ball on this dog, blood drip drip dripping on the driveway. Their kid immeadiatly starts screaming, my wife freaks out. It looks bad. I figure the eye ball itself is ripped and dollar signs are going through my head ( and I also felt bad for the dog) Ran into the house and grabbed a towel, went back out and started holding it over the dogs eye. The dog is still standing there panting all happy, tail wagging etc. I took the towel off to get a better look and we could see that it actually had a cut on its eye lid and not its eyeball, and after awhile it stopped bleeding. It was amazing how bad it looked to start with.
I have never seen a cat attack a dog unless the dog had it cornered. They leave our dog alone, and he goes after them all the time.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

My buddy had a badass tom cat when we were in high school. He'd throw this cat at dogs, spin him around in the dryer, and toss him off the rope swing into the lake. Our other buddy had this poodle he always said was a real tough dog. One day we were in Chris' room......the cat was sitting on the foot of the bed. Tony's poodle came over, stood on the floor at the end of the bed, and growled at the cat. The cat looked down, pounced on the poodle, and smacked it in the head a dozen times in about a second. Tony's poodle yelped, and ran peeing down the stairs. We both looked at Tony and said "Tough dog you got there".

Had an all white cate named Honkey growin' up in Wally World. Coolest cat ever. Stood his ground to anything.
One of our farmer friends came over to deliver a load of hay and brought his 3 "cat killing, meanest farm dogs ever"" dogs with him. He just apologized right than and there if his dogs killed our cat.
Spooked, we put the cat inside, who promptly said "screw you guys" and escaped.
A while later, as were sitting around after unloading all the hay, we here the commotions to end all commotions.
Oh crap, the cat is dead (we thought). Go runnin' up to his truck and there are his 3 dogs COWERING in the bed of his truck and on top of the roof of the truck was Honkey. Just sitting there looking like he had just kicked the living [censored] out of 3 dogs and knew he was a bad ass cool cat.
We show up, cat happily walks over to me, all snuggly and happy to be petted and like nothing happened.
Dogs wouldn't move, were shaking, and wouldn't get any where near 100' to that cat for the rest of the day.

Cats... Hmm, I pretty much cant stand them.... We have a few strays that wander around our neighborhood. They are constantly robbing our cats food bowl at every chance they get. I feel like the neighborhood cat clinic going through a bag of cat food every 2 weeks.... Anyhow, less than a week ago I see one of the stray cats in the back yard so I let my lab out to chase them out... I told him to get the cat so he runs out and the cat starts this hissing crap as is going to stand his ground. My lab looks back and I yell "get him drake".... So drake turns and charges the cat and this cat jumps and wraps himself around drakes head, he looked like he's stuck his head in a catchers mit.... He rolled around and then slung the cat into the wooden fence and off it went.... I haven't seen that cat since..... Keith

I hate cats too. We have a long haired blind 'himalayan' named 'Pumpkin'. She just lays there like a lump, day after day. If you pet her, she walks away, if you pick her up she hisses at you. My girls would love to play with her, but every time they do we get crying and "Punkin hit me!", or "Punkin bite me!".
When she wants something (cat box, food or water) she'll be nice to you.
So pretty much we are all just waiting for her to die. My wife even called an adoption agency and told them we were sick of the cat and wanted to get rid of her. The girl gave her a horrible mother-in-law type guilt trip, and so we kept the cat.
She is a little entertaining when she freaks out though, because she takes off running and invariably "bonggggg" runs hard into something (because she is blind).

I once had a brother sister pair who would tag team dogs. One would be on the gate and the other would roll around stretching on the ground to lure dogs in. Once the dog took the bait the one on the gate would drop onto his back and the other would paste him in the face.
My grandfather had about fifty wild cats living in his barn. They kept the varmits thinned out. He would mix up a big cream can full of milk, oatmeal and whatever and slop them like pigs every morning. You want to see how vicious a cat can be just be unlucky enough to catch one of those wild cats. You will never ever want to catch one again.

My dogs (65 and 85lb Dobies) almost killed/drowned a cat up on the job in Mt Vernon last year. I was staying in my trailer up on the job during the week and had the dogs with me. I let them out in the am to run around since the whole job is fenced (large lot with a huge house on it), and I hear them start barking. I go out to see what is going on and realize the have a cat up a tree in the middle of the lot. I figure no worries, they will be getting put in the trailer in a bit and the cat will go on its way before they get back out for lunch, so I go back in the trailer to finish my breakfast. I also figured there was not a cat on the planet STUPID enough to come 30' down a tree with 150 lbs of Doberman sitting at the bottom. I WAS WRONG ! ! I no sooner get back in the trailer when all hell breaks loose outside. I go running back out to call off the dogs and all I can see is the big Dobie (Silas), in the retention pond with his head in the water and four cat feet sticking up out of the water. I get down there and call/pull him off and as soon as the cat pops to the surface the little Dobie (Lucy, the tripod), is on it and back under it goes ! ! After much yelling and getting them both by the collar I get them back up to the trailer and throw them in the back of the truck. I go back down to check on the cat figuring I'm gonna hve to get a shovel and the thing is still in the pond kinda hissing and spittin at me. I get a stick, which it attacks, and drag it out (coulda used a hockey stick at that point Dave). I tell the cat it had better get the hell out of there by lunch cause the dogs are gonna be back. Later on I went to check on it and it was gone. .. .. Stupid F'n cats.
And stlhead, yeah, feral barn cats are some nasty mo fo's. We used to have a kitty shoot on the farm every couple of years to control the population cause you couldn't (and wouldn't want to ) catch them to vacinate them. Not a varmit on the property though, besides the cats.

Love cats. Low maintenance, affectionate, very little mess. Wish women were so good. I don't ever want another dog. High maintenance, chew the shitt outta everything, shitt all over the yard AND the house, loud obnoxious barking. Phukk em, I hate em.
Dog comes on my property and tries to kill my cat , he'll have a mighty big hole in him .

I knew there was a reason I liked you, Harry! My current cat (of 12 years) is part Maine Coon Cat. He's big, furry, loves everybody including the kids, not scared of anyone or anything, and is a cool cat. He's an indoor/outdoor cat that comes and goes through a magnetic cat door as he pleases. Put down a bowl of water and dried Cat Chow and that's about it, as he's not fed, nor does he like, human food, or that canned cat food crap. He sleeps on the foot of my bed at my feet every night. The only real maintenance we do for the cat is try to brush him, as he will get a bad case of the furballs in the summer time if we don't.

Got a border collie cocker mix. Great dog. Very obedient. Rarely walk her on a leash so she can chase any squirrels she sees. Loves to herd anything that runs. One day on our walk a big tomcat struts out in front of us. Sage looks at me like, "can I herd it?!" "Get the kitty I say" and off she goes. Cat runs about 50 feet then stops, turns, gets this look like, "why am I afraid of that?" and starts running back at Sage. About two seconds later Sage is hiding behind me. My dog is a big wimp. Some cats are tough. I am pretty sure that cat would have turned and chased anything that bothered it.

Same with my cat. Will only eat dried cat food. Plus he obeys commands. If I say no he won't do it. For some reason he likes water and mud puddles. But if I say no he won't go out. When he was younger after he caught his second bird I grabbed the bird from him and scolded him. Never touched a bird since. Now he talks to the birds....which is pretty weird.

A friend of mine got a new crossbow and had the great idea of shooting at a cat near a tree - just to scare it a bit. Well, he took aim over the cat and fired. The cat reacted to the sound of the crossbow, which apparently scared the beegeezers out of it and it jumped straight up in the air.... Only to get hit in the chest by the arrow and impaled to the tree.

No. That was before digital cameras and cell phone cameras..... Got a dog story, too. When I lived in Wally Wally, there was a neighborhood dog that would run along side my truck and bark at and bite my tires. Being a standard hormonal teenager, this seemed to piss me off quite a bit. Of course, I wasn't a cruel person, so I never tried to run the dog over, etc. I told my Grandpa about this (he was wise beyond his old years) and he told me he could "fix" this problem. The next day after school, my Grandpa took the hubcaps off of the rear tires, slipped a gunny sack underneath the hubcaps and screwed them back on. Basically my rear tires had gunny sacks attacked to them. Not thinking of what would happen, my Grandfather told me to drive around the block. I did. The dog came running up and bit the rear tire. In what probably was a nano-second, the gunny sack attached to my tire swung around and caught the dog in the upper jaw. The breaking of the dogs neck was beyond sickening. I slammed on the breaks, hopped out to see this dead dog laying there, basically said "Oh my Fraking God!!!!!", hopped back in the truck and took off for home! As I pulled in to the house, my grandpa was just standing there with the biggest [censored] eating grin I've ever seen on him. He obviously didn't see it happen, but that old geezer knew *exactly* was was going to happen. And, it did. To this day, I still feel bad about that. I really had no clue as to what was going to happen....

Get a kitten from the pound, or go to one of the pet stores that only offers up rescued abandoned kittens from feral cats. (there's one on Roosevelt and 65th) The cat should come fixed, or if not, not released to you until it is. I got to watch a golden retriever pup and kitten grow up together. They were like siblings. When they were both little, the pup would tackle the kitten, pin it on it's back with it's front paws, and lick it until it was truly a wet, drool-covered cat. As they both got older and bigger, the two would chase each other, with the cat eventually hoping up on a table and as the dog tried to lick at it, it would whack it in the face (no claws). The cat eventually learned, like we all did, that goldens are pretty damn dumb and can be taken advantage of. Our golden would have killed to protect that cat. Probably the other way around, too.

Hate cats. Got one under my belt by accident while driving down the road. I just see a flash of a cat jump in front of me and hear the tires go bump, bump. Got him with the front and back tire and knew there was no need to stop to finish it off.
An old girlfriend had a stafford shire/pitbull mix. This sumbeotch was one big cat killer. He had 6 confirmed kills, and had all these battle scars on his face to prove it. If they were in his sites, I'd bet money on him because he was so fast.
They use their stinky little cat box in the back bedroom than the next thing you see them on the kitchen counter wondering what's cooking.

Guess if one doesn't mind their face to smell like dog ass, it's OK....... PS. Cats get thrown across the house if they hop up on kitchen (or any) counters. Homey don't play that game. Bad kitty!

You can train a dog not to lick a person, but can you train a cat to not jump on the counter while you are away, homey?

my parents got a Siamese kitten. that cat was only my sisters would have nothing to do with anyone else unless my sis was gone. there was a large german Shepperd in the neighborhood that ran all over. one day i open the back door to let out the cat and there he was. the cat took one look at him and jump in the middle of the dogs back. off went the dog cat in the middle of his back with claws set under our board fence went the dog tearing off the cat leaving long claw marks. the dogs owner thought the dog got in a fight with a bobcat. the cat always slept with my sister and never went in my parent bedroom until my father passed away. that night the cat walk the floor howling like only a Siamese can and then slept with my mother for a week.

My old Siberian Husky grew up around our cat that had no front claws. The dog used to screw with the cat relentlessly. The cat kept swiping at the dog's nose, but without claws the dog is unaffected.
Take the dog over to my sister's house one day. She has a cat with front claws intact. The cat is sitting on the couch. My dog decides to go screw with it. Cat starts swatting at the dog's nose. Dog can't figure out what is different about this cat, as his nose hurts. It took about 4 or 6 swipes of the nose before the dog backs off now sporting a very bloody nose.
Of course this was the same dog that got mixed up with a skunk in the backyard. After detecting the strong odor of skunk, I go, oh, oh, and look out back. I see the dog has a skunk cornered. The dog would go after the skunk, get sprayed, back off and shake his head, then go back for more. What a mess that was.

An almost two year old thread coming to life. . I'm thinking if I'm going to get one it better be soon or he isn't going to treat it well. I got my cat from the pound as a half grown kitten. He is an orange tabby and has the best personality ever. Races to greet me after work, purrs like a lion & follows me all around the property. He's everything I could ask for in a pet. They all have different personalities. Not sure if I would have one if I lived in town as you can't keep them in your yard if you let them outside. He even likes to get a bath, but most cats hate water. Other people that have that breed say similar things. Siamese cats are notorious for having a bad attitude. It ain't macho to like cats and a lot of guys hate them because they can't control them. I like them because of their low maintenence and the fact they they are sort of wild still and not your slave. Still one my best pets ever....

Something that's stuck with me is the same grandpa one of his dogs caught one of the barn cats and is bringing him back like a pheasant. The cat is real injured but still alive writhing in the dogs mouth. I'm a kid and think gramps is going to help save the cat. He grabs the cat by the tail out of the dogs mouth and runs around the barnyard beating the dog silly with the still alive cat. Thump, thump. The beating put the cat out of it's misery, taught the dog to never touch a cat and left a lasting impression on me.

MAfter detecting the strong odor of skunk, I go, oh, oh, and look out back. I see the dog has Stam cornered. Funny story.... Thomas has several ringneck pheasants he raises on the property. We live next to a creek out in the country and the raccoons are always trying to get into the coop and eat the birds. I set a box trap out and catch a lot of the violators and release them about 10 miles away on my way to work. Well the last offender was a skunk. Sure enough, I caught him in the boxtrap. Thomas has successfully released them before without getting sprayed, but this one was pissed. Thomas had a rainsuit on and a tarp in front of him, but still caught some overspray. Monday after school, I picked him up and he told me that in EVERY class someone would come up to him and whisper......"DUDE, YOU REEK OF WEED!" He says, "dad that is so funny, cuz I'm the biggest hick in school, I don't dress like one, but all the other guys in their wranglers & John Deere hats are wannabes". I thought that was funny....

If that's a photo of cat that is enjoying a bath, please show me a photo of a cat that is *not* enjoying the water. That cat looks like he's gonna flat out kill something just as soon as he can get out of the water..... Best wet cat photo, EVER!

reek of weed. Funny story.
Fooled myself a few times getting a wiff of skunk while driving down the road and thinking that farm house must be a grow operation.

We have a big kitty. 25 lb Mainecoon, he only has to warn a dog once that it has over stepped its bounds. We were pet sitting a friends dog over X-mas. First day the dog comes in the house and see's big kitty and decides to chase him. Bad idea, rumble, rumble, bark, hiss, fitt-fitt, YIPE, YIPE. I go in the room grab the dog and remind him myself that we dont chase big kitty in the house. So a week goes by without any further confrontation and I'm petting the dog and I feel somthing in its scalp. I pulled out a discarded cat nail that hafd been stuck in his head for a week.

In the mid eighties, I lived in a housing development near mill creek. My sons and the neibhors kids invented a game they called sink the cat..They would capture an unsuspecting feline, take is to the stormwater retention pond, thow the cat in and proceed to bombard said feline with rocks, all the while they were chanting "sinkt the cat, sink the cat" I know sounds terrible, but after I scolded them I had to hide in the garage to laugh my ass off.

Now his son is a serial killer.
I'd have sunk those f'n kids in the storm water pond if I'd seen that sh!t.
I'm neutral on cats. Little bastards killing cats for fun I'm not neutral on. Your son is/was a piece of sh!t. You must be proud.
Dogs kill cats because that's what dogs do, your kid doesn't have the same excuse.

Hating cats is nothing one has to defend, and many dogs will kill any cat that comes around because they are natural enemies.
And upon reflection, Tatonka's kid could be given a pass because kids do stupid crap on a regular basis. But an adult laughing about the stupid sh!t his kid is doing shows what a loser that adult is.

Another neutral guy..had them around for 20 years through various women. Don't mind them, and my labs haven't either. But even though I'm generally an AHOLE in the grand scheme, I wouldn't kill a cat for "just because"....I know people who do and I generally distance myself from them.

We got our last few kitties at the Shelton Kitten Rescue. Awesome cats! All very "humanized" by people who give the kitties lots of personal attention to make them crave human attention.
Flower, our 15lb Tortoise Shell Calico, wakes you up in the morning sitting on your chest, petting you with her paw. She doesn't meow, she squeeks.
Sasha, our Gray Calico, is bold and had proved to be a good killer. She likes hanging out behind the computer monitor. She is in love with Ryley, the Golden Retriever across the street. She just walks right up to him and starts rubs all over him. Ryley also has a cat of his own at his house. Flower stays away from Ryley.
Both cats like the bunnies while we had them. Got a bit freaked out when the buck came over and started to sniff them.

Girlfriend has four of the prickly little fur balls.First time i came over to her house She asked me if I liked cats.I laughed and told her All good cats need flying lessons. Years ago I had a cat that would walk all over your head in the middle of the night to wake you up and get you to react. It finally woke me up one too many times and I threw it across the room, hitting the wall with a thud, about seven feet off the ground.Critter hid from me for a week.I felt like crap.I know they have nine lives and all but i am sure I hurt it.Then one morning I awoke to find it laying next to me.It was like i was that cats idol after that.
So I spend the night with the girl friend and what does one of her cats do but try to wake you up all night. So i jokingly toss the thing across the room.Little basturd liked it.So i did it again. Now it is my flying kitty. Its favorite game is for me to throw it across the living room using the couch as a landing pad.Thing gets some air.
She has another all black one that is my labs best friend. They both follow me around her house competing for my attention.Girlfriend gets jelous. The lab will lay down next to me and Mr. the cat will come lay on her head.I get home from work and the both greet me at the door.
Don't get me wrong.I have all sorts of sick things I pulled as a kid I just do not find the memories all that entertaining any more.
Salmonella's water kitty is the greatest though.
