So, we know who the great drummers are, lets talk about the total packages. What are your Top 5 shows you have attended and why. For me..

1> AC/DC in Vancover B.C - 1978 or 79 Bon Scott days. Battled our way up front. Angus Young.. wow
2> Led Zepplin King Dome 1977 First big road trip
3> Stevie Ray Vaughn with George Thurogood at the Bouquet Bar in Boise. Small venue with rippin guitars
4> Anytime the Rev Horten Heat shows up in town. Always a good time
5> Elton John at The BSU pavillion.. I kid you not. That flaming homo has some serious talent on the piano. Came by himself with no band. The original Butt Ranger by himself.

6> The just because award.. several road trips to Eugene to see the Gratefull Dead and take in the Fair ( It ain't about the music.. it was always about the adventure)

I never did get to see Bon Scott. To bad, too, because the guy's studio recorded lyrics blow me away to this day.

Here's a female cover band that kicks ass and they are playing here at our very own Clearwater Casino this Thursday night.

1. Judas Priest in Seattle/Tacoma, 1980...my first heavy metal concert...I had just turned 11.

2. Iron Maiden in Seattle/Tacoma, 1982...Wow.

3. Steve Miller, The Gorge, 1989(?)...no opening acts, just him, over 3 hours. Played a lot of his blues stuff from the '60's.

4. Violent Femmes, Lots of places, lots of times...great music, and excellent minimalist showmen...always a great time.

5. Paul McCartney, Seattle, 1990(?)...dude, it's Paul McCartney...'nuf sed.

6. Ozzy Ozbourne, 1980...dude, it's Ozzy...'nuf sed.

Oops...that's more than five...so I'll add in a "just because", too...AC/DC in 1990 at the PNE in Vancouver, B.C. I hadn't been to a real indoor rock concert in several years, forgot how friggin' loud it is!

I spent a summer seeing nearly every act at the Gorge Amphitheater when it was first gaining prominence, too...Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Steve Miller, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Sting (excellent show, BTW), and several more...that was a good summer.

I had a chance to see most all of the Seattle bands in the mid- to late-'80's...every time in a bar or club I was too young to be in, jammed in with a bunch of sweaty and stinky people yelling at the top of their lungs, with them and the music leaving my ears ringing 'til Wednesday...then another show on Friday.

That phukkin' rocked, too.

Fish on...

Todd

Tough to say here.

Mahavishnu Orchestra in 74 at the Paramount was great, original band with Billy Cobham on the drums.

Claptons first show after rehab, 74 or 75, Layla was the first song.

LameFest. Mudhoney Tad and Nirvana at the Moore, grunge gone wild

Johnathon Rchman and the Modern Lovers at a small bar on Capital Hill (Canterbury) about 35 people, but they were all dancing on the tables.

Black Flag's first Seattle show with Henry.............what a mosh pit.

X at the Starwood (I think) early 81 or so, just wow..........

The Clash at Kerrisdale Arena (Hockey arena outside of Vancouiver) with Shane McGowan of the Pogues.
Partied with Joey Sh!thead and the clowns from DOA, a who's who of Vancouver punks tore up the place. Wild times.

Seen Hells Belles a couple of times. Not bad at all.

Most Bizzare thing I have ever seen : Dread Zepplin These guys play Led Zepplin tunes to a Reggie beat with a guy named " Torrid Elvis" up front ( Elvis impersonator) I wanted to shoot myself while listening.. it was a train wreck in slow motion. Bought a C.D that we use to clear people outa the house when they won't leave.

Allright KK I take back my "70" comment. I have also seen Johnathon Richmond and Black Flag with Henry...weird.
I saw BF in downtown Detroit when Henry had long hair and watched him kick a broad in the face.
I have also been to two shows in Eugene seeing the Dead BRun.
Other memorable shows have been the Cowboy Junkies with 50 people in the little town where I attended college in the 80's,the Beastie Boys in Chicago in 91, the Dead at Memorial Stadium a couple of times, Dead at Deer Creek mid 80's, and Stevie Ray Vaughn in Michigan. Energy wise I think Stevie rocked out the hardest. I wish that dude was still making music.
Bands I wish I could have seen:
Sex Pistols
Cream
Robert Johnson
Muddy Waters
The Ramones
Jimi
Nirvana...moved here in 92 but never saw them play.

How could you not like the lesbian version of Angus Young banging out "Whole lotta Rosie" wearing a catholic schoolgirl skirt. That's just good intertainment.

I'm going on Thursday. I've gotta see these chicks in action.

Wanna tell you a story
'Bout a woman I know
When it comes to lovin'
Oh, she steals the show
She ain't exactly pretty
She ain't exaclty small
42-39-56
You could say she's got it ALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

Never had a woman, never had a woman like you
Doin' all the things, doin' all the things you do
Ain't no fairy story
Ain't no skin-and-bones
But you give all you got, weighin' in at nineteen stone

How much is nineteen Stone ???

I've seen everything from The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Blondie, to The Melvins, Mudhoney, Canned Heat, Beach Boys, was a stage hand for The Oakridge Boys (omfg! ) etc etc.

The BEST show Ive EVER seen was a group called The Red Elvises. Best music, best entertainment, most energy, most fun.

The Pretenders always did a good job back in the Day..

Chrissy Hyde is one ugly Skank but I'd hit it, maybe the sexiest ugly woman ever.

1965 - Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl - I won box seat tickets at a dance club in San Diego while in the Navy. Couldn't hear a damn thing but I was there.
1968 - Sky River Rock Festival and Lighter than Air Fair:
Country Joe and the Fish, Quick silver Messanger Service (pre- Dino Valenti) Richard Pryor among others:
http://www.historylink.org/essays/output.cfm?file_id=5425
It was my first concert after a vacation in SE Asia, so it was great at the time.

Santana, Rusted Root, Toots and the Maytals, Burning Spear and the Original Wailers Band at the Gorge.
Chicago Transit Authority at the Eagles Auditroium in Seattle right after their first album when they didn't suck and window pane was sold at the concession stand.
Stevie Ray Vaughn his post rehab tour at the event center in Everett on Colby. His amp was at 12.
Almost all the local bands during the mid-'60's - Sonics in particular blew me away.

I've only been to a few live shows. Have more on DVD's, less wacky tobaccy that way. lol

Rush's R30 Clark county amphitheater 7-3-04. Took the whole family. 26th row back, killer shot at Neal's kit.

There's a couple more, but I gave up my ticket for AC/DC in Seattle...work related. I agree Bon Scott blows Brian Johnson away.

Wanted to see IM back in 05, at White water. But couldn't find anyone to go with. Bummer

You guys are way too cool for me.....I can't play.

When you guys were playin' rocker I was broke like a joke and raisin' kids, I used to listen to all that stuff on 8track cassette & FM radio though.

I guess I did get to see Van Halen (not van haggar) in the arena in 78..79?? bad show, DLR got ..Uh, "food poisoning" (sound familiar Sol) and couldn't even complete the show, fu(kin' burritos!

1. Pantera too many to count always a high time.
2. Deftones too many to count.
3. Pearl Jam w/Neil Young @ Gorge or @ the arena
4. Metallica @ the arena 3 hrs. of pure ass kicking
5. AC/DC T-DOME WOW
Your guys' concert resumes kick ass. I have seen a ton of shows but Stevie Ray, Bon Scott on the Mic for AC/DC/ Zep, Rollins. VH with Dave gets me pretty envious.

Stevie Ray Vaughn in the Paramount when he was doing Hendrix.
Santana in the arena.
Zep, The Who/Clash, Stones (lump these together because the shows were great but the sound sucked)
BB King with Kenny Wayne Sheppard
ZZ Top
George Thorogood
Robert Cray

(I can't pick just five)

only regret: not seeing Pink Floyd

Embarrassing concert: My mom forced me to see Ricky Nelson when were on vacation in California. At least I was out of state so not likely to be seen at the Garden Party.

BTW, my mom was driving to see Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper when their plane crashed. I wish she had kept the tickets.
