The 4th pic looks like it was taken through a scope minus the crosshairs.

Nice pictures.

I tried to get my son a big archery gobbler, but it seemed that all the luck we could muster was bad.
We had tooooo many close encounters to count.
He cut feathers on a couple of huge toms but couldn't seal the deal and we ran out of time.
I'm in northern California's "A" zone, opening day of archery deer seasonis July 14th.
As you can tell by the antler development, the life cycle of these deer is way ahead of more northern habitats.
These bucks rut in late September.
The "scope" photo is a shot I took through the lens of my Swarovski binoculars with my point & shoot camera.
This year it seems that I have been focusing on hunting (and moving) so, I am lagging behind on my fishing photos.
We will be into the Kings real soon though.
Take Care,
Sal

Why are they all 2x2's (some with eye guards)? I've seen entire heards of 2x2's up here in Washington. They must like to hang out together before they become "big boys".

Anyways, I'd love to shoot a forked-horn with tines that long. I've seen some monstrous muley 2 points. I've even seen guys shoot at 'em because the rack is so long & wide that they get tunnel vision thinking it must be a huge rack. BTW there is a 3 point minimum restriction on all mule deer up here...unless you have a special permit.

Nice scouting, it's going to be a great hunt. Hopefully your boy can knock the "feathers" off of one since he wasn't so lucky with the gobblers. I still remember your recount of his first archery blacktail last year. Quite a kid, be proud!

Sal,
How do you find another house with a place for all of your trophies! I loved those pics. I'm going to be in Chico next month and think I'm going to bring my rod this time.
BTW nice job on the Kinger shots with your boy on the fishing thread.

I'm planning an addition with 15 foot ceilings.
I'll miss my current home, but I will have bucks and turkeys in my backyard.
Some of these photos were taken at the new home...

Some of the locals...

Getting better, I'm seeing some 3x3's in there. Home sweet "new" home!

I can see why you are moving. I just received my Idaho tags (branch bull and buck) and I'm stoked.
I'm bringing a new guy to camp this year and his excitement is flowing over to me (like I needed it).
Good luck on those bucks.
