One of the long-time posters to a bowhunting site I hang out on has "met" the girl of his dreams..he thinks.

He met her via some on-line "Meet the PERFECT Woman" kinda site...but most of think he is getting flamboozled. Sad part is, he *thinks* he is totally in love with this gal, and she is in Belgium (or Germany or somewhere in Europe).

Prob I am having is I HAVE SEEN this pic before...just can't recall where..



He is blind in love right now (and no kid either) and we are concerned she is going to start asking for him to send $$$ to her.

They have "known" each other for 3 weeks now...and he is thinking marriage.

Any serious assistance would be helpful, as we (his cumulative collection of mentally deranged pals) really don't want to see this guy take another slide down the long path to destruction.

If this guy is an archery pal of real concern to you, then you guys maybe oughta' consider an "intervention" of some kind. Anybody thinking marriage after 3 weeks, even if they've been in bed the entire 3 weeks, is nuts. If he hasn't even met her in person and thinks he's in love, he's beyond stupid. Talk to him about infatuation. If he's still infatuated with her after knowing her for 2 years, and spending most of that time together in person, then maybe think about marriage. He sounds to be so off course, he might be beyond anybody's ability to help.

Its a scam! Its probably some dude from Kenia posing as this hot chick. He/She will eventually start asking for personal info or for him to do favors for him/her since she is living outside the country. There was something on date line a while back about this. Any ways your buddy needs help with not only this but from what it sounds like he is a very very lonely guy.

If I may expand on my assessment, please perform these simple tests. Type "free porn" in the Google search engine. See how many web sites it finds. Next type in Britanny Spears. See how many web sites that search produces. Next, type in one of the names of the girls you mentioned. Compare the number of web sites using the girl's name to the other two searches. Next, go to eBay and put your favorite color into the search. See how many of the items you would actually buy.

I wasn't saying gems do not exist on the Internet. The girls you mentioned are the rare finds. I was just saying that the majority is fluff, unentertaining or even malicious. If it's on the web and too good to be true, it usually is. If it isn't, it will have a physical manifestation that reflects it's web persona which can be verified by personal contact.

I made the error of marrying an "Internet Chic" a few years ago (2000). Some family members may remember my anguish and problems with that 8 month marriage..it was a nightmare unrivaled by anything Sci-Fi could ever produce.

We want ZIM to avoid the same fate...here are his comments that got us worried...
