Nice raincoat Stam. You wear orange well. I won't totally speak for Sol, but I can assure you Bob, he wishes he was there. Although, he did have a little fun on the island, but it just ain't the same as being up there.

Crikey... how the hell did that one get thru without any net marks?

EO Friday 1400-2400
EO Saturday 1100-2400
EO Sunday 1500-2400
EO Monday 0001-0700

.... leading into the regular 0700-1900 opener on Monday.

Good luck boys! And TRBO, I'm counting on you to have that W-30 handy for any net-mutilated kingers to add to the collection. Mine are starting to get a bit worn out. ;\)

That is a sketchy looking crew...did everyone think you were filming a show where a bunch of bigmouth bubba bass fishermen from Alabama come up and stick it to some salmon?

Fish on...

Todd

P.S. Nice, fish, NoFish...time to change your moniker, eh?

Ah yes, the good ol' creek comes through again! ;\)

Super nice Ditch fish there, Pat!

How big was that fish? Mid to upper 40's?

That's at least 2 pizzas in a week! Someone will be eating well this week!

Ok, Stam and Jim, you're next!!!

Hey Bob, did the boys at least "Man Up" and use that silly bug rod? Oh wait, only the retarded would do that. ;\)

Stam always looks baked...

Bucket looks lost... like a deer in the headlights.

Crikey, TRBO! Nearly 100K sox in the last 5 days counts, and they still haven't played the dreaded in-river EO card yet? OMFG! The threat of over-escapement is imminent!

Good for you guys, but frankly I'm amazed ADFG hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

I see they increased the dipping zone and increased the rod/reel limit to 6 a day and 12 in possession.

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later...

 Quote:
Set gillnetting will also be open in the Kasilof River Special Harvest Area from 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2007, until further notice. During this fishing period the navigation channel is closed to all commercial fishing with set gillnet gear including nets, and anchor lines. In addition, no net may be anchored or attached to the Coast Guard channel marker buoys in this area. The outside terminal area boundaries are 600 feet south of the normal commercial regulatory marker located one mile north of the Kasilof River to 600 feet north of the normal commercial regulatory marker located one mile south of the Kasilof River. The first 600 feet from the mean high tide mark is open to set gillnets only. The riverside closed area is a straight line drawn between the two commercial markers located in the river terminus. Other aspects of this plan remain in effect and are on page 92 of the current regulation book.

Drift gillnetting will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2007 in a portion of the Kasilof River Special Harvest Area bounded by the following four points;

1.) 60 degrees 22.589 minutes N. lat.
151 degrees 20.336 minutes W. long.

2.) 60 degrees 23.062 minutes N. lat.
151 degrees 20.531 minutes W. long.

3.) 60 degrees 24.130 minutes N. lat.
151 degrees 18.838 minutes W. long.

4.) 60 degrees 24.147 minutes N. lat.
151 degrees 17.716 minutes W. long.

The area within 600 feet from the mean high tide mark within this area is closed to drift gillnets. The riverside closed area is a straight line drawn between the two commercial regulatory markers located in the river terminus. No drift gillnet may be operated closer than 600 feet of any of the set gillnet buoys or set gillnets in the normally open set gillnet area. Other aspects of this plan remain in effect and are on page 92 of the current regulation book.

Sounds like a 24/7 kind of deal for an indefinite period of time so ADFG does not "overescape" the Kasilof with sox. As of Wed 7-25, they already had 247K past the sonar. Upper end of BEG is 250K, and anything over 300K will be considered a management "failure"... imagine that.

Sorry TRBO! Hope you got some nice kings earlier this evening 'cause there sure won't be much for the rest of the season. \:\(

Sad, sad news. Once again ... we see no regard for king runs in this river by going to a 24 x 7 in-river netting scenario. That's actually good in a way, use it ... the meetings are this winter \:\) \:\) \:\)

Looks like another year of skewed "net-contaminated" data for the baseline stock assessment of late-run Kasilof kings.

They are collecting information that is so UN-representative of the unadulterated abundance, age-class composition, and run-timing of this stock. That's gonna be a lousy baseline from which to base all future management decisions.
