I love the "Quillayute River System: Tribal Netting is not available at this time." But they have their fuc%ing nets in right now, don't they. Co-management my ass. Those feathered ****** couldn't manage a boul movement if they weren't
drunk enough to shi% their pants.

Amen my brother.

Yes they are netting today, yesterday, and tomorrow on the Q. The reason the schedule isn't posted is that it might inflame some people due to the fact that the entire Q system is under selective gear regulation and wild coho release. Hard to justify netting 3 (or 4? remains to be seen..) days a week for fish we aren't even allowed to fish for.

A friend of mine was fishing down there yesterday, and waited patiently for a drift netter (one of about 15 he saw) to finish a pass before he dropped in to the hole and let plugs out. Almost immediately another boat swarmed up to him and told him he had to move, as he was screwing up their drift. He told the netter he was going to finish his pass and then he'd move along, and the guy told him to get off "His River" and then advanced threateningly at his boat, apparently grazing his stern at one point.

Proudly displayed 30.06's and PBR tall boys don't mix all that well. For the sake of self preservation, I have made it a personal policy not to push the envelope when looking for elbow room in the net neighborhood.

I saw law enforcement of some sort keeping an eye on the scene down at the Richwine area on the Quil yesterday. Not exactly sure what he was up to or who he was watching, but everyone seemed to be getting along. Basically the bankies got out of the way when the nets came dragging through.

Admitedly, I too have my opinions of the "stewards of the earth." I do however think that blue water's point about how NOT to approach an issue is valid. Like it or not, most politicians that have the means to escalate these important issues are not going to associate with finger pointers. As frustrating as it is we need to focus on uniting and coming to the table with solutions.

that's my sermon to the choir

The point is that the fish are disappearing. Into nets. How many? Who knows? How can they net wild coho on a river system that's closed to coho retention? What's 50% of jack shi%? They get the jack, and we get shi%?

My comment wasn't a cheap shot, it was a dead bullseye. Have you ever driven though one of our reservations? The people live in fecis and vomit encrusted clothing, they stink, they live like rats and they have zero self respect. How are people like this supposed to respect a resource like anadromous fish? And how is the WDFW supposed to manage a fishery with such a partner? Partnerships are only as stong as the weakest link, and a divorce in this case seems untangable. So I say it the way it is, like it or not. \:\)

One more week of pull out noon Sat then put in noon Sun
Followed by 2 weeks of 5 day/wk......
Hopefully last week of Oct they should be back to a normal Wed noon pull out and back in on Sunday noon, if weather and river cooperates.
Slow for most fri/sat as well as for the nets.
