I'm looking for info for the western,wa. late season muzzleloader elk. I hunted the northern section for the early season with no luck and now it is just time to get some meat in the freezer. Does anyone have any suggestions on a unit to try for the late season ? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Well if you get some info and need a partner let me know, I am game. I hunted North River early, have spent time in the 602 (closed late season) I would be interested in the 607.

The Issaquah is a 3 week any elk hunt. It holds quite a few elk just be careful your not hunting in someones back yard. Do some homework and you might be able to connect there. Good luck.

Whoops,
I thought the 607was still open, It was the 601. Not interested in that myself.

That area along the river looks interesting any elk. But am not familiar with it at all.

Its a long haul with no scouting

If your from PA it might be a little far for you. From my experience I just keep checking some local spots and sometimes run across a herd or 2. Can't you just hunt by one of those flashing elk crossing signs in Sequim?:)

The only open spot out here is 601 and I have been told that you may as well hunt the pacific ocean.

had a friend get a 4x5 in lincoln but dont know exactly where. dout there is many elk in that area.

i know there is butt loads of elk in the mossyrock and randle units. thats all i seen last year during archery deer late hunt. and they are 3pt or antlerless

Deerslayer,
Would you care to be a little more specific ? I'm not looking for your honey hole but just a good starting point. I'm just looking to fill the freezer. Feel free to pm me.
Thanks,
Tim

i talked to a guys down at the first gas staion on highway 12 east exit. and they were all muzzleloader hunting elk and deer.

they told me to head up around riffe lake area? swoffard ponds area. there is some dnr roads over there that are pakced with elk.

i wish i could help you more. i cant remember the roads to take to get there. i know its right down there by swoffard pond though.

Hey fellas, not meaning to hijack your thread here but I'm going to head down that way for a couple days next week. If you have already been down, wondering how things looked. If not, like I said, I'll be down that way next week if you wanted to meet up and compare notes. I'm pretty new to that area and ML as well.

Good luck finding the elk down south.
We hunted from Carson to Randle, Mt St. Helens to Mt. Adams,
We couldn't find anything. We talked to others and they had the same luck. We did see a couple of racks in trucks but nothing extrordinary.
