Hi All,

I have a group of friends coming to go camping for a few days next August, and one requirement is that we can access a private campground for a few days.

These folks are very respectful of nature and the wilds, and if anyone knows me they know I would take care of the land and property while we were there as if it was my own.

This group is comprised of mostly sick folks (none with contageous illness or non-ambulatory) from several countries, although mostly the US. There are some things about our illnesses that tie us all together, and we've all decided to have a Gathering (while some are still with us) to spend a little time sharing good food, and talk over what this life is really all about.

There will be a minimum of 2 trailers with full-self containment, plus one motorhome and a few tents plus cook area and day-use screened in area. A water supply would be about all we would need and some accessible flat ground in a timbered area (preferred). I would be willing to pay a reasonable "user fee" if that was needed.

Thanks in advance for anyone that may have a place we could use. It would be left in equal or better condition that when we got there, and you would provide some good folks a place to hang out for a few days and share the goodness of life, some good groceries and a lot of campfire talk about Lord only knows what subjects.

Mike

You can use my property on hwy 504 at milepost 19.3. It may be too far from where you are, but you can park trailers or whatever and pitch tents and have privacy. There is also an electrical hook-up and water. Close by is a restroon facility. Also I can provide firewood and some picnic tables. This is located near the mouth of the Green River and across the road from the N. Toutle and about 40 miles from Mt. St. Helens. There would be no charge.
If there is anything else you might need, let me know and I might be able to help.

Howdy Ronnie,

That looks like an outstanding location! A bit of a drive (I'm way up north) but it might fly as many are driving up from CA, and others can fly into Portland instead of Seattle.

Let me look into this more (we have months to plan yet) and send you a PM later. I would love to see the property, but from what you describe it would be near perfect.

Thanks!

Mike

WinterKing:

Sound like beautiful country, but I'm concerned about folks driving out (or ferries) to the Penn. if we can avoid it. There is more than 1 motorcoach (unsure the length) but they get a bit spendy going across ferries...but then?

Ronnie (above) has offered a place with what might be easier access for some, but we are still a while away yet. Thanks for the offer, and we'll see how Ronnie's place will do for it's easier access.
