I fired an AR-50 once.
Once.
The muzzle blast blew the ear muffs back off my head and the bullet made a neat little hole in the black part of the paper target down range. I got up, said "Thanks!" and went back down to my end of the firing line.
Figured I'd 'been there, done that.'

Kinda like the time I fired a .505 Gibbs only the AR-50 was propped on sandbags on a card table so I didn't have to pick my ass up out of the dirt afterwards.

I only watched it once. What came back and hit the guy?

I was on a small arms range one time firing a 9 and a round came back and landed in my helmet laying behind me.

Another time I was on a 249 lay'n some lead out and a Bradley was firing it's 25 and coax about a quarter click north of us, the rounds from the coax were peppering our position after richocheting off the metal post from the target they were firing at. The lanes from the both ranges nearly intersected. The range officer should have realized we should have never been there. A dood laying next to me feeding ammo had his helmet cover tomahawked off his head. After that we took cover.

Nothing like firing a 50 BMG.

I was at the range in Eatonville for a day of shooting fun yesterday with a couple of buddies and put 80 rounds through a couple of my 50 BMG's.

I think he put his underwear out.
