The picture of the snow covered back road alone would scare off 99.9% of the guys looking at the pictures and vid. Crazy trip.

Nice fish, 5 minutes 30 seconds to land. Per our other thread a week or so ago the story will say 30 minutes to land \:\)

The camera was off for the center portion of that battle. Batteries don't do well in sub-zero temperatures. It was something we struggled with while shooting video all week. I'm guessing it took Nick about 10 minutes to land that fish. We were using heavy gear. \:\)

You could sleep with the batteries and keep them on you in a warm pocket until you use them. I think that is what they did for the IMax on Everest.

Awesome video by the way. Snow and ice forming in guides an around your legs in the river = a memorable experience.

Thanks for sharing Sol. You know, I wasn't too jealous about your 20 something Spanish [censored] (well, maybe a little), and I wasn't too jealous about your new truck, but pictures and videos of this trip make me extremely jealous. Both you guys have serious sets of onions.

I know where Sol was fishing and I still wouldn't go there. Too damn cold and too damn dangerous. That's not for me, and I'm guessing that is not for the other 99% of the people on this board.

It's like when I was technical diving down to 200+' on mixed gases. Crazy stuff. I did it, but I really didn't enjoy it. I finally realized that I should leave those dives up to the "true" pioneers and that I'd be just as happy swimming around in 30' of water.

I'd be just as happy fishing a ton of other rivers. You won't see me up there any time soon.

Cool video Sol!

The river isn't the easiest thing to run in a boat, the weather is sh*tty and balls cold, more thing could go wrong on this trip than your average trip and if they did there isn't a ton of ways to get your ass out of trouble.... ya you're kinda missing somethings
