Thanks Stam and Parker. I was missing you dyed in the wool fly boys for a moment there. Sheesh! Yikes! Next time we go fly fishing Stam, you gotta' leave the bait caster at home. You can show us how you Spey cast Parker. We got nothing else to do, like fishin' or somethin'. You should know by now that fly fishermen had to forego bait because it won't stay on the hook while fly casting.

Geez, I'da never guessed everyone of us owns a chain saw. Kinda' interesting.

Bring your video camera, 'cuz you'll probably win the million dollar prize after you submit the video to:

I gotta be a shoe-in to win that.

Scotch makes a good embalming fluid...in 100 years there will be thousands of flyflingers laying in mouldering graves looking just as they did on the day they died.

Beer makes good anti-freeze, and as an added bonus, tastes good, too.

Fish on...

Aunty, that's why we call it Spey Pride....and you're right, it's not a pretty sight.

I'm with Todd on this one. But if a cheap bottle of scotch is all it takes consider it done;)

Unlike Merg my clothes aren't coming off during the Spey Pride parade.

Besides, nobody wants to see pics of some skinny white dude who hasn't seen the sun in months. More importantly I wouldn't subject anyone else in this group to that kind of scene.

And as far as builds are concerned.... I AIN'T NO BLADES! (thank god)

There's a reason why Dave's dog and boat are in his avatar, rather than him with his shirt off!

Todd,

You may be a hell of a lawyer, but yer a lousy chemist. Beer, with its lower alcohol content, freezes at a much higher temperature than does Scotch - embalming fluid or not.

Aunty M,

Tsk, tsk, . . . this just won't work. Shirtless Spey casters ain'ta' gonna' be no shirtless fireman's calendar. Sorry, it just ain't gonna' happen. You better just stick to the firemen.

So what are we looking at here? About the 3rd week of March maybe? I gotta' go buy a 2008 calendar/planner and start makin' some plans.

Sg,

I'm aware of the different freezing points of beer and Scotch...but if it's cold enough to freeze beer, then I won't be flyfishing, anyway.

Third week in March? I'll probably be on the OP...I'm sure we can find somewhere to waste an entire day flailing around with fly rods.

Fish on...

Todd

I'd be up for this one if it's not by invitation only. ;\)

First two weeks of April I'll be on South Andros wading the flats searching for ghosts!!

Oh, I'll be fishing...only I'll be doing it the usual way, you know, the way that catches fish.

Fish on...

Todd,

When you learn to use it, you won't be wasting your time.

If it looks like the timing will work, we can adjust the location according to how the runs are doing and water conditions.

Wntrrn,

There are no invitations. None of us are invited unless we invite ourselves. But if Ikiss sees any of us casting together, he'll brand us as attending Spey Pride. You have to decide if you can live with that. Of course I hate you since you're going to Andros. BTW, nice catch. I swear those hatchery rags are getting skinnier every season.

KK,

It's OK. Just gotta' understand that Todd has no class. Of course rubbing shoulders with the likes of us ain't gonna' help change that, but oh well.

Todd, just read Vedder's book in preperation for the fly outing. Then use those techniques like many "fly anglers" do these days and call yourself a flyfisherman. ;\)
