My father sent me a pair of recently purchased Hodgman Lakestream Lite breathable waders a few weeks back. They where brand new in the box and never used. I have used the 5 times so far this year and my last trip out fishing me feet got saoked. There is a small hole on the seem of each stocking which are 3-mm neoprene booties. The leak is coming from the poor stitching on the booties. I called Hodgman and told them and they said to send them in and they will send me back a new pair. This process will take 2-3 weeks. Is there any kind of sealant or waterproof agent I can use to seal the small leak on each bootie?

The leaks are circled in green.

Aunty: Ya gotta wear 'em though or it doesn't matter ;\) (Elitist would mean endorsing a particular brand, I'm criticizing a particular brand... that's not elitist. I've had 3 pair of Hodgmans and they all SUCKED. Ya do sometimes get what you pay for. I'm super happy for you though that yours are so awesome!!)

I wear waders in the boat except in summer and I rarely bank fish.

HMM. I disagree.

Maybe you should pm Bob and have him delete the "lame". WTF is it for, then?

Would this suit you better?: I FEEL that Hodgmans are not a quality product. I have been unhappy with several of their products...

I 'll remember to hold you to task next time you aren't "polite"... ;\)

Sorry I upset you...

I agree that Hodgeman waders are an inferior product. Many moons ago I bought a pair each of their hip boots, breathable, and neoprene waders. They all failed in less than 10 bank fishing outings each.

I think that is more than deserving of the term

For boat waders perhaps they are perfectly suited, but Blades has no boat, he poaches from the bank.

I understand and agree, but I would like to point out that he was given what I consider to be good advice in the Aquaseal, and the avoidance of Hodgemans in the future, and both from people that I don't think care for him.

Is there a good reason why this is here and not on the fishing board?

Just curious.

Blades, it's nice to get free waders, and aquaseal will temporarily fix the leak, but I have to agree that Hodgeman's suck unless that's all someone can afford, then some waders are better than no waders, unless of course they leak really bad and you are uncomfortable with wet feet, ass, crotch, knees, calves, thighs or ankles. If you walk around wet all day, you could get wader rash, which is similar to diaper rash. The chafing will either not be noticed until you get home due to it being cold outside, or if it's August or September the chafing will resemble what some people call swamp ass which is when your butt sweats and rubs together, stinking and chafing, then you don't need aquaseal, you need desitin.

Thank you all for the advise and thank you for all the bullshiat from others. Never a thread I start stays clean no matter what the suject is. However, I just ordered a pair of the Simms G4 GUIDE waders from Simms. I will fix up the Hodgmans with some Aqua Seal Seam Seal and use those as an extra or lend to a freind in need of some waders.

I got the coin for them so I bought them. Why not spend a little extra to have some waders that will hopefull last a couple years.

You'll dig the Simms waders.

When I first had to dig deep for the 4 bills to buy the first pair of Guideweights I bought I had second thoughts. But after many years of dry and comfy, I don't think I've ever spent better money.

When I had to replace them, I went with the Classic Guideweights again because I didn't think the G3's and G4's could be that much better. I'm a little envious you're getting the G4's.

Man this doesn't look good. I am willing to bet that these small sparks coming from Jakes match box comments, will eventually turn into another torch Blades Thread.

I'm taking all bets that it does. Any takers?
