I could pull both of your Dodges out of the mud with my Ford, then run 'em over.

Aunty, when is this pull-off contest you're wanting to have? ;\)

Funny Sol, when I made that post I actually thought, "..and if I couldn't, Sol could."

That's the only time that phrase will ever be used by me.

I've got a level-wind reel you can cast a quater mile, too. Saying it doesn't make it so. Beyound that, both of my bosses drive Fords so I won't elaborate on my opinion of them.

Stam might enlighten you, however. \:\)

We haul large horse trailers (40')all over the country taking clients and their horses to shows, It seems to be a chevrolet and a ford world. a few dodges for those that don't mind driving a manual. It seems they all have there lemons. Back to the original question GMC or Tundra I think it depends on what you are gonna use it for.

Stam, Your post states you carried a 2500lb camper and towed a 20' sled was that with a toyota? if so WOW!!!

I guess I should have clarified that I dont haul much and dont tow anything. So not much need for a diesel.

Seen that Top gear. I've used that Video on other boards to settle quite a few arguments once and for all. I used to be able to fix a 20R engine in the rain at night on the side of a dark country road with a pair of Gerber Multi-Pliers, tape, and maybe a rock from the ditch for a hammer and a cigarette lighter for a flashlight.

I just Toyota would get off their asses and make a diesel.

I work at Toyota, a lot of customers trading in their ""domestics...That's got to say something...When they introduced the new Tundra they took us to Quest Field to compare it with the Titan, Ford, Dodge, and New Silverado...We drove them really hard through with and with out 5000 pound trailers filled with water, what a blast...I ranked them as follows and reasons why:

1st: Toyota, horsepower, torque, handling, and fit/finish
2nd: Silverado, really liked the interior, exterior ok, handled well, wasn't has tight as the Toyota
3rd: Titan, to much power for drivetrain, handled like ice skates, rear end heated up.
4th: Dodge, brand new out of the box and already raddling, braking was scary, no stability, vanilla interior.
5th: Very poor fit and finish, no power, only vehicle that didn't brake tires of the start..

Any ways, I still like diesel power if you are towing something of that magnitude, Tundra out does any other manufacturer..Plus, it probably won't be your last truck, get something that we'll still be worth some doe after your done with it... Please feel free to roast me, or ask technical questions.

It's tough to beat how well they hold their value as well. I found this out the hard way a few years ago when the 89 4Runner I owned was stolen. That truck was 13 years old and had 250,000 miles on it, but the insurance company gave me $4,500! Took care of the down payment on my next truck...a Toyota of course.
