Blackmouth fishing was good in area 8-1 today. We hooked 5 (4 hatchery 1 native). The hatchery fish were 25-30 inches. We caught all the fish within 15 feet of the bottom trolling tomic (600 & 603) plugs. Most productive depths were 80-100 ft.

Nice report! Can't say I've ever seen a blackie with a red side like that one.

I bet it's just a reflection off something else that someone is wearing or on the deck (bright orange lifejacket, bright orange coat, etc.)

I believe that is the reflection of a gas can in the boat Sky-Guy. The fish didn't look red like that in person.

You guys are making it difficult for me to read the posts at work with your avatars. Not that I don't like them, but people walking by wonder what kind of site I am looking at.

You can turn off people avitars if they're not appropriate for work. I believe you do that in My Preferences. Nice fish ...Later

Nice fish - you gotta love hot blackmouth day like that on plugs!

I was out in area 8-2 yesterday- twice, but when the ferry landed the dream was over.

Yeah I do on occasion althought I spend most of my time in San Juan Channel in the winter. If the weather is cooperative the outside is worth a look though!
