ESPN is having a vote for greatest highlight play of all time. Somehow the BSU Statue of liberty play has made it to the final four. I think the Hook and Ladder that kept them in the game was a much more exciting play.

WATCH BOTH VIDEOS BEFORE VOTING OR YOU'LL MISS OUT ON THE FUN!

The only other play I think would come close to being more exciting would be the end of the Cal v Stanford game. Actually I think this video clinches it for me. Even though I am a Bronco at heart.

Probably the best angle from which to watch all the laterals in the CAL Stanford game. Do watch this one.

I chose BSU because it was a well called and executed play.
The Cal/Stan game, while incredibly exciting, was timely luck.

Both were outstanding moments!

You didn't check the links did you Slab? The "low definition" re enactment of the Cal game is hilarious. Someone was high as a kite when they dreamed that one up.

Yeah, Vince I checked all three links and tracked down the real deal. I thought the animated version was a Vince Hee Haw, all right, but thought you were serious with a follow-up of the real deal link. Just call me Denseness.

The "hook and ladder" was not the play in the espn contest. The play used in the contest was the "Statue of Liberty" play used for the winning 2 point conversion.
I voted for BSU because they ran 3 gadget plays in the last 10 min of the game (2 of them back to back). The hook and ladder to send the game in to overtime, then the halfback pass to tie in overtime, then of course the statue of liberty for the win.

The hook and ladder should have been The Play. A lot more technically challenging, tons of yardage, a visit to an endzone with seconds left on the clock, a team taking control of their own fate. I liked the S.o.L. play, hell that whole game was amazing.

I think the Miracle on Ice will win the whole ESPN vote though. I got into trouble for staying up late in my room with the TV on, but managed to talk my way into letting me see the end of the game.
