Bob Four Diaper Dad River Nutrients Registered: 03/05/99 Posts: 5125 Loc: Forks, WA & Soldotna, AK	Below is a flyer for the upcoming benefit for Gordy on April 4. Please try to be there $\:\)$ I am currently in the process of working on another large raffle to be held here, independent of the event itself, and would like to solicit all of you for some help in donating prizes for the winners. They do NOT necessarily need to be fishing / hunting / outdoor related ... all prizes are welcome as it obviously will generate some extra interest and incoming dollars to help Kim & Gordy deal with the slough of expenses realting to his accident and current slow, but hopeful recovery. Perhaps you own or work at a restauarnt that might be willing to donate a dinner ... or maybe have some season tix to a team that you'd be willing to part ways with for a game or two, you get the idea $\:\)$ Please PM me or email at RLBALL@OLYPEN.COM with any help that you might be able to provide and as soon as my schedule calms a bit, I'll try to get the ball rolling. Bob Four Diaper Dad River Nutrients Registered: 03/05/99 Posts: 5125 Loc: Forks, WA & Soldotna, AK	Thanks Dan $ SSF, I'll be sending a PM shortly $\:\)$ Gordy is a long-time guide in the Forks area who suffered a long fall from a cliff into some rocks early this summer. Somewhat of a mentor to me, he was the second person in Forks that I met and when I still lived in Seattle, I often stayed with he and his wife when coming out this way to fish. He suffered very severe injuries and was not expected to even survive the accident. KIm has been caring for him since the accident and has been unable to work since June. Gordy is making slow progress but many years of tough rehab still lie ahead. While we all joked about his mile-a-minute personality, they both are some of the nicest people you could ever meet and they are the type that would have done anything for anyone ... it's time to repay the favors $;\)$ _________________________ Seen ... on a drive to Stam's house:

They donated the GC to the raffle themselves. Thanks Toga and Lisa! Most of you east of the peninsula types drive right by his place on the way through Port Angeles... Think about having dinner there some time, they're nice (and generous!) people and he's a great chef. That frees up my $ for a new donation. Since we've got a night's lodging, dinner, a rod & reel, rvrtackle, and fishing trips covered.... I guess that leaves breakfast. I'll kick in a $50 GC for the Forks Coffee Shop. That should cover breakfast for 3 (I've heard that buying the boat rower breakfast is good luck... $;\)$ ) and maybe a couple sack lunches. Edited by LoweDown (03/05/08 11:38 PM)

They are donating from the store an outdoor designer bar patio set with tea cart, selling price in the store was close to $3000.00 I'll bring it over next week if you have a place to store it until the auction. They are also donating a gas grill, I'm not sure which one though. _________________________ Have pole, will fish.

Although Sol, your donation might work more like this....you will have to pay the Forks chick for your services, and she would want a LOT of money, and your girlfriend would also pay too so she can have a break, and that total of money can be donated. Seriously though, I agree with Stam's earlier comment, this tragic event could have happened to many of us. I am pushing for a few more items, we'll see how that works out. This is a good auction to donate to cuz it is on a more personal level. Often people and businesses donate to funds, organazitions, and causes, but this is somewhat different cuz you know that whatever comes from a donation will really make a difference and help a lot. I'll bet we can come up with some more good stuff from friends and families that we all know, especially when they hear about what happened and that this is going to help alot. _________________________ Have pole, will fish.

They are... 1. A pocket sized tackle box with 9 Rvrfshr spoons, completely rigged with hooks, split rings, and swivels...four of these spoons are just now available to the retail public, and are the brand new hammered finishes of our most popular colors! Retail Value approximately $30.00. 2. A pocket sized tackle box with 12 Rvrfshr spinners, completely built and rigged with hooks, etc. Being as this is mainly a steelhead and salmon site, all the spinners will be in sizes 4 and 5. And the welcome and ovation and surprise proclamation that we received was second to none. I am sure that Gordy and Kim wont forget that day and I know that I wont. Thank you very much. If anyone sees Gordy anytime soon, please tell him, on behalf of the Coast Guard aircrew, it was an honor and pleasure to finally get to meet him and shake his hand. Pretty incredible to see someone that is facing such circimstances and still has the ability to crack jokes at you. We dont typically get to see or meet the people that we help after everything is said and done. It was pleasure. _________________________ To everybody else, YOU are the other guy.

I got to shake hands and say hi and/or thanks to a couple of you Coast Guard boys, not sure if I did with either of you, but I thought you guys represented yourselves very well there. It was fun, cool to meet some more people, the massive turnout was awesome and the money raised was awesome, and the donations were awesome.. Good time for a better cause.
