I have had good luck with the G1000 series and up over the years. I friend bought some of the lower end rods for when he takes newbies that don't have gear. In one Coho season he busted all four of them.
So to some it up any rod at a G1000 level or above is good in my experience any of the lower end models suck turd and appear to be snap happy.

Two words: Ugly Stick.
No one can break that many rods unless they are abusing them.

Michael, John Posey is a friend of mine and he alerted me to your on-line rant. First off, they only have records of two (2) rods you've sent back. They replaced both at no charge. Do us all a favor and the next time you want to pull the trigger in anger, put the barrel in your mouth, first, Dill-hole. Zing i n g

Don't take it out on the maker of the rods you break every time you get on the water. Sounds like they have helped you out every time so far, so why trash them? Good luck getting the next 20 replaced....

never bought a lami...although i am sure i will...i love my loomis rods, but really like my Shimano's...i have a lot of those...they are not as expensive, and i dont break that many...so far..
they other rods i really like are Fenwicks, but i dont hear much about them...one of them you could not get me to give up...i have messed up the tip four times..(i just glue it to fix) but i still catch a hell of a lot of Coho with that one...and is very durable..stays in my work truck in the summer...
all in all i would have to say im pretty happy with Shimano...ive broken two rods in the last 5 years that i can remember...one was not fishing, the second one i was stuck on the bottom fishing for stupid bass, and had enough, and was impatient, and did what i was not supposed to do being angry...anyway...20 rods is a lot to break..go ugly and dont turn back...c

Vince is on the ugly stick pro staff, he could get you a deal I could get him a deal on the bottom half of an Ugly Stick. He'd have to call blades for the top of it. As the Ugly Stick Pro Staffer I could also get him a deal on a combo Shimano Calais 200 reel paired with Shakespeares finest, the Ugly Stick 1141rsr. The rod blank is created with a nylon core, a graphite middle layer, and an outer layer of recycled radial truck tire rubber. This is all coated with rubber cement using child labor and those crappy little metal cans of glue that come with the brush in the lid. I hear that Shakespeare is working on a joint sponsorship with Bush beer to promote a new race circuit, the Cracker Series. Stock trucks, pulling home made boat trailers with one wheel smaller than the other.

Always new you had trouble with them on warranty but I never realized you'd had that much trouble WOW I definitely say that you've convinced me not to send my G1000 back that I broke a couple of months ago ,because something tells me they all just tell me I'm sorry sir but it wasn't a "manufacturer defact" I mean seriously what kind of $#%& is that other than an excuse to not on a warranty and get money from shipping. I suppose the bottom line is I agree with you there warranty honoring policy actually Sucks BALLS but on the other hand I just love they're rod designs and will continue to buy from them but only if I can get a decent price of them on sale or just build my own.

First of all, that was a headache to read. Second of all, read the entire post and you will see Sol mentions that deerslayer is actually not exactly correct in any means and Lamiglas has actually complied with there warranty issue every time...

how am i not not correct in any means? every single rod i have broken has not been the type of break that is covered under warrentie...no matter if its the butt section right by the reel seat or if its the very tip right between the tip eye and the first eye...it has yet to make any difference on weather one of my rods has or has not been covered under warrentie. hell i had a reel seat come loose on one of my rods and sent it back and that wasnt even covered by warrentie...that is pure rod malfunction...and SOULD be covered under warrentie. so unless you are fishing with me and see how the rod is broken there is no way in hell you can look at a break and tell how it was broken...UNLESS it is smashed or something like that. so you guys can bah me all you want... it stil doesnt change the fact i have been raped in the ass by lamiglas on every single rod i have sent back. [censored] i have had one rod "replaced" a few times. and at $40-50 a pop that makes that rod worth as much as a imx... actaully the have almost all been their 9'6" 8-12 certi pro...i absolutely love that rod. and even after that hassle i will more then likely own 20 or 30 more of them over the rest of my life.

you guys are funny...some of the comments have really made my night.
on a serious note...i never have and never will run heavier then the rated line on any rod. im usually running one lb line lighter then the recomended max...
ive only broken one rod due to high sticking...and that was on a king down at alki...
most of the rods i have broken have once again been on the skok...and all you guys know what its like fishing that river up around purdy creek.
i pay the money for lamiglas becuase they have a life time warrentie. and that being said i feel i should be able to fish my rods with out fear of breaking them. because hey...they have a life time warrentie. so why worry about breaking a rod...?
every single loomis rod i have ever broken...gets replaced asap. never once had a problem. even on a rod i stepped on, or the one that went through an accident.

so you guys who have great luck with lamiglas service. thats cool, maybe you can throw some of that luck my way...
i personaly have had horrible service from them...and to bash me for that is pointless...
cause for one im not the only person who has had bad luck with them...and im sure not gonna be the last. i just happen to have bad luck with them everytime i send a rod in...
imagine being a guide and having this same [censored] happen everytime one of you clients breaks a rod. that would suck bigtime

Not to start an agrument but if I broke 20 plus rods I would be looking at what I was doing wrong and not trying to fault someone else. go back and read the second page buddie... i never once said they werent my fault...most of them more then likely were...
