Forks, what can you say, that place is just a sleepy boring little town.

I was gonna head over to Forks last week for a day or two alone to do some catching. But, as always in my life, plans changed. I then was considering going with TBJ and Seastrike if I could fit it in (heard they got some fishy's), then I got a call to fish with the Legend know as Stam and the guru Guide Bob, how could I say no?.?. I couldn't. I had planned on getting there in the late afternoon or evening Wed., but, of course, the ever changing plans, got changed. For reasons we won't discuss, cuz I'm married , I ended up leaving the island at 12:30 am, on Thursday, yep, a half hour after midnight. I was already tired from the previous nights lack of sleep. I had to drive around, which meant for a long drive. Drove all night, got to Forks about 5:35 in the am and went straight to breakfast with Bob and Stam, with no sleep at all. We launched the boat without a lot of solid help from me in my dizzy tired state of mind. I made plans to take a couple short naps on the boat, but of course again, plans changed. Once heading down the river, tiredness was not a massive issue. Stam woke me up by hooking up with a nice steely right away. The day was filled by jumping steelies, some hot, some not so hot, missed bites, and fish that the won the battle by getting off the line, partly due to a half awake state of mind that leads to less than solid hook sets and fishing ability. Great day it was though. I proceeded to pretty much instantly fall asleep aftwards on the couch of the guru guide amongst all the comotion going on of the rumored to be pregnant Corey and her two kids, Rowan and Bob.

Next day, felt a lot better. Did a walk with the Staminator on a river and there were some fish around. After Stam was nice enough to not set the hook on a fish as he watched his float go down 3 times in a hole while his line was tangled around his reel, he left that hole to move furth down stream. He had to come back to the hole as I sniggled up a fish right out of it that I needed help to get pics of, and to participate in the awesome fight. It was probably the same fish that bit him, but he stuck to the pink worm for me, probably cuz I had no line wrapped around my reel. It was a great fight with some cartwheeling jumps of which the fish decided to really make a scene by landing on his side a couple times with a cur-splash! The rod bent as the fish thought it was a freight train, it had speed, power, and jumping ability, unlike Sean Alexander. I actually thought I lost it for a bit as it ran straight at me, then I caught up to it as it screamed upstream. It was a fun fish. It was a mega sized buck. Some might call it 17, some 18, some might call it 19, some might call it 20, I don't really care, it was big and it fought bigger. The shocker of the whole thing is how bright it was. It was one of those fish ya don't forget. Stam has the good pics, and quite a few of them, but here is a couple too.

Fighting it.

The fish.

After a great couple days on the water with Stamley, I headed home reveling in the daydreams of the previous two days. I got home late Friday night and did the Mr. Dad thing Sat. And what do ya know, had so much fun in Forks, I grabbed up the family and headed backout there Sat evening after less than 24 hours at home. Got there, checked in the hotel, got the kids situated, then went and met up with Tbird, Lowedown, Mark, Brad, Subcoop and Jaydee, oh and the mighty wife of Lowedown, Karin. It was a fun time, but the best was at the expense of Tbird.

This chick kept wanting to get Tbird's attention and dance with him, but he wouldn't. Finally I yelled over the table to Tbird and said, "you're either gay or your gonna dance with her." He said, "I'd rather lick the cucumber." Eventually we convinced the man to get out and dance with her and he found out that girls don't bite after all. Here is some pics of the nights events.

Coop, Karin, and Blondebud.

Me and Blondebud, proving our whiteness out on the dance floor.

All chicks like a man in a simple white t-shirt.

Deep thoughts with Subcoop and I.

Karin's ready to let loose.

Lady killer

Tbird's dance partner didn't realize it was not Mardi Gras in Forks. She was confused and wondered why she got no beads when the goods popped out.

The gang back at Lowedowns place.

Don't ask about that one.

This is Blondebud trying to wake Mark up, the dude was out. If only he knew what happened to him while he was out.

Sunday, after a very relaxed lated start, my family spent the day with Brett Lowe and his wifey Karin, and once again, the star of the show, the Legend know as Stam out on the river.

Stam has most of the good pics, but here is a few.

The master in his domain.

Stam fighting a fish.

Fun times, good stuff, sweet people. Thanks Bob, Corey, Lowedown, Karin, Stam, Tbird, Brad Mark, and thanks for the drinks Subcoop and Jaydee.

Wow. Glad I am on a FAST internet connection.

My only involvement, besides, the text messages, tauntings, and phone calls was to supply Coop with a mess of wormies.

So Coop - please tell me you burned up all those worms on 20+ pound fishies! Let's hear how you and guys did!

Hey Nofish, you have some tree company. First Stam, on the day with Bob. Then me on the second day. I was fishing an area that had a tree about 15' tall or so right in the middle of the river. My hood was on due to rain, so limited vision, but, the river is fairly wide there and straight. Somehow I managed to cast right into the tree. I promptly broke my line off and called it a day. I figured, if I am going to hit the tree in such a wide open area, it's time to quit.
