Last year I fished solo a lot and I understand the desire to feel safer with some fire power. Having said that, its not clear to me that your REALLY any safer. Going to prison for rolling a tweaker on a river would sure put a damper in the next 10 years of fishing. These days running or talking fast seems like a better option than rolling some dumb ass.

i got my cpl in febuary and now carry every single time i leave the house. and it is just a nice feeling to have it with me weather i will ever need it or not.

i left it at home one night when i went to the local mini mart and it just felt akward not having it on my hip. its like a part of me...just like my wallet and cell phone.

LOL thinking about NordicFish's post - The only place I've been where I was hitchhiking while carrying a 12 gauge on my shoulder and 44 mag displayed on my hip EXPECTING to get picked up while hitch-hiking was outside of Soldotna, AK.

A guy stopped, he was going in the opposite direction and turned around to pick me up. My only mistake was I got in - LOL. The guy had a Keg in the back, and the whole van full of guys were hammered. About a mile outside of Soldotna he goes into the ditch, out of the ditch, crosses the road, into the ditch onthe other side back out and back into the road. I told him this was my stop and thanks!

Only pulled my mossberg on bears.

Today while loading the boat on the trailer at Lk.Shoecraft someones pitbull came in full blast barking and growling and me and my buddy. My buddy started yelling very loud for the @#@#ing owner of the dog to call him off or the dog was good as dead. Lucky for us the owner heard him yelling and came out of his house to call his dogs. If I would have been carying I would have shot that dog instantly and would have had every right to do so. I just got my carry permit last month and have yet to buy a pistol. I think I'm going to go get one after todays episode. No trout is worth a surprise attack from someones POS pitbull. Wothless dogs anyway!

I have been concealed carry either on my person or in the car for the last 4 yrs...I feel naked without it.
I just bought an open-carry specific Taurus Titanium Tracker in 45acp.
I will be on my hip on every outdoor activity.
