Thinking of heading down to the C for a final shot at some springers. I have never fished above I-5 before for springers (fished mostly cathlamet, St.helens, kalama stretch) and was looking for a little help on places to launch/fish. between I-5 and Bonneville. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Launching, parking and most importantly fishing . Thanks, Bret

The Beacon Rock launch is an excellent facility. Publicly owned. Parking for boat and trailer can involve a bit of a walk. $5 is the fee. The ramp is into a protected cove so easy launching. The area is a short run to prime springer territory. Head upstream from the launch along the inside of the island. When you join mainstem be careful to stay left at confluence, there is a shallow bar on the right.

There is also a nice launch in Vancouver if you wanted to fish lower and several more between there and the dam. Also there is a launch right at the boat deadline below the dam. Here is a link to some launches http://www.aldercreek.com/web-resources/columbia-river-map.cfm#riverfront
