Aunty,

 Quote:
Closing it would NOT help the fish. The more hatchery fish on spawning beds, the WORSE it is for the wild fish. That's why we got the season we did.

Really! If the hatcheries don't get the fish they need to spawn, then I guess closing it wouldn't help achieve that, HUH?

C'mon now where is the logic in that. Of course closing it helps the fish. Less mortality on wild fish if nobody is fishing for them.

Lowedown,

Actually been great freinds with Bob for years and I am very much pro sportfishing. The issue is whether or not we are better off with a qouta lasting one month or 2. If we have to limit the ones that eat up that qouta the most to achieve the 2 month season I think it is best for all in the long run. If that is anti guide than I guess I am guilty.

How come your "red fish, blue fish" are actually "green fish, yellow fish"?

Here's one for ya...

Can you see how your comments might lead one to believe otherwise?

As for your thoughts on the quotas, I think most people would agree that fish being caught is a good thing. Having a longer season due to less successful participation just doesn't make sense to me. And what about the boatless anglers? You've mentioned in previous threads that you felt these resources should be made available to everyone...

In any case, do you have any numbers that back up your feelings on this matter? Numbers of fish caught by guided vs. unguided anglers?

That's much better, Toff.

Thanks for keeping us on task...

LD said red/blue. I just said one/two. I dare you to find anywhere in my posts where I implied that the one/two fish must also be red/blue!

I know!! ...let's argue about it.

I will not argue on this thread.
Because it hurts my fuckin head.

I will not tell you "shut your trap",
I will not say "you're full of crap".

I will not grant your stupid wish,
To argue 'bout those little fish.

One fish? Two fish? Red or Blue?
Don't care enough to argue with you.

But if you want to have a fight,
To have a battle here tonight,

Pick a topic that is good,
The kind of topic that we should

Get up in arms and yell about
Kick and bite, scream and shout!

Let's have a fight,
And have it out.

Let's argue 'bout why you're so curt.
Why my post made you get so butt hurt.

That's what we should be debating,
Not about this guide boat baiting.

We should figure out instead,
How you got it in your head,

That you were right, and I was wrong,
When I was right, right all along.

It's pretty clear to every one here,
That this argument should steer

Towards the goal of getting through,
Why you said fish one and two,

You're obviously wrong,
Just like I said,

The answer is
One BLUE one RED!!

Bank anglers have access to columbia springers. The thing is the average boat is fishing for 1 or 2 fish a day. Whether it be because he can only fish weekends when crowded conditions exist or he is not as good a fisherman. A longer season allows him to make multiple trips and hopefully harvest a few fish. If I'm not mistakin extending the season will also benefit guides.
With large amounts of willing clients why would a guide not want to do everything to make his season longer.

1 fish two fish.. I could care less about guiding, or who catches what fish. Guides are good people. Its the 2+3 = 6 math thats got me spinning.

Good poem Todd.

Thank you for putting words in my mouth. It is very clear to see that I didn't say those things, AUNTY!

But nice try!

The one fish limit is there to prolong the season, plain and simple. No other reason needed, end of discussion. Quota is quota and if you want to fish more that is where the change needs to happen. There could be a 2 fish limit and then the CR would have been shut down in 4 weeks. Game over, move on.

I still want to know who implied this? It surely wasn't me. Although you directected it to me. Unless everyone on the board is named KEVIN.

And announcing todays events is a crazy misunderstood J777777777.

Im not down for any count. I'm still trying to figure out why you directed that statement to me when I had absolutly nothing to do with it. I guess when you are strong minded about something you just keep hammering it in. I guess we both agree to disagree.

Remind me when I am asking for more of the alocations next time. I don't want to get ahead of myself.
