I think we take it for granted. Pull up to the pump, slide a card through a slot, fill the tank and drive off. Folks don't usually ask themselves what would happen if they couldn't do that anymore. First, the American people are hurting and have lost all confidence in the current administrations abilities and honesty. I'd start impeachment proceedings which I think would be well accepted and instill some faith back into the public.

I'd stop shoring up the strategic oil reserves as Bushco has been doing since day one first term helping drive up oil prices worldwide.

I'd send Condi to beg at the UN on her knees for help in Iraq or we will be there bleeding cash for another fifty years.

I'd cease the idiotic Corn Ethanol program and I'd move toward nationalizing big Oil in the U.S. as it's proven time and again the price of oil is vital to our economy and national security.

What about you Oregonian? Another war? Print more money?

At that point, aren't they basically mercenaries for the big oil companies? Except, that in typical American (not really) capitalism, the bill gets paid by the tax payers.
