I've seen an ounce of weed maybe one time, and if I can remember that far back, his britches must have been all kinds of puffed out  Why is important to me to know if this was a "rap" record company he was wanting to start ??

Misdemeanor possesion is actually less than an ounce and a half (40 grams), IF it is all in one baggie. If it's divided up they can still hit you with intent to distribute, which is a felony. Possesion of more than 40 ounces is also a felony, which can cost you 5 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.
