Hit area 8-2 this morning looking for something to go with tonight's steak.

We found this little fellow and 239 more of his friends.

Yes that is Big_Daddy's paw holding that "little" fellow

After a slow start.......9 total in the first three pots, we zeroed in on them and started pulling pots of 45-65. Oh ya baby.

Here is the cooler with one pot pull of shrimp..............

The tide changed and started ripping. When this happened, most people left the area. We kept watching the finder (zoomed in tight to the bottom) closely for signs of shrimp and continued to bang shrimp until limits reached.

Concentrated our efforts in 300 to 390 feet of water.

Sad to say we had to dump 2 full pots back. Oh well, maybe they will be waiting around for Saturday.

BD, expect a Parker ho attack soon.

We did "OK" today. 9 shrimp short of 6 limits, plus steamers. I left my oysters on the beach inside their shells where they belong!

Good job Aunty.....

After we zeroed in on them, I wished I had alot more people on the boat.

I hate to throw them back. The 2 pots we dumped back probabely had 50 each in them.

Damn....................

Totally......a salted rim with Grapefruit and Vodka can make even the worst conditions seem hospitable.

The wind isn't bad where we shrimp. We know there are better shrimping grounds, but we stay there because the clams are A+ and available every shrimp day, it's pretty sheltered, and there is a clean potty within a few hundred yards of our pots. Important when ladies are aboard and I try to have at least one other woman with us.

Naw. I'm good for a once a year trip.

I'm a little "shell" shocked at eating them.

Yes..................I concur.

Leave it to you my friend to find even more bright possibilities for a good time.

I should start serving those onboard during charters.

Big_Daddy,

As a cracker of a shrimper -- when you say "signs of shrimp on the sounder", I presume you are looking above the bottom, but what sorts of signals? Do shrimp school up like bait, or ??

I have never shrimped before. I have trapped crawfish a lot and that is pretty fun. Is it a similar process? What do shrimp like to eat?

In areas with no shrimp, you will see a "clean" bottom.

When you find shrimp, the bottom looks "fuzzy" and resembles "shag carpet."

Find the fuzzy spot and let her rip. (not a good staement to make around this group)

I use cat food, shrimp pellets or a mixture of both.

The guy that set me up and educated me on this shrimping gig was our Fabricator, Paul, out at Three Rivers Marine.

Paul definetely knows his stuff when it comes to metal work and Shrimping.

Thanks Paul..................

Slab............

I take that as a compliment from you. Thank you.

However, I have been called much worse.

Come to think of it, by a select few on this particular sight.

Nice job on the Shrimp Big Daddy . I am going to try and give it a go for the first time before it closes.

IrishRogue, attend the PSA Sno/King chapter meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 at the Senior Center in Edmonds. Shrimping is on tap. Check it out at:
