I have seen some trout, particulalry cutthroats, take frogs. Has anybody every tried bass or sunfish poppers for trout in rivers and creeks?

Poppers work great for Trout, when feeding on Smolts and other baitfish. We used them alot up in AK on the Naknek and Kvichak rivers, during Sockeye Smolt migration. Rainys popper heads in front of variouse Baitfish patterns did the trick. This setup works very well for Saltwater fishing in the Sound.

I have used a popper on a local smaller lake that is pretty low pressure. I threw that out there and they on it like white on rice. Could not keep them off of it. Seemed like the only that would work too.
