Been spendin some time at the vice lately and getting ready for the coho to show up, as well as the sand lance to get a little bit bigger. I love fishing poppers when possible and i have just started to see the sandlance in the 2 inch range.
Thought I'd share the recent creations.

Nice ties.
A couple of questions. The tube fly in the middle, is that EZ Body covered with epoxy?
Also, I notice the pink poppers have hooks up at the heads. Do you ever fish them with two hooks or did you just take the picture before your had a chance to cut the front hook off?
Thanks,
Brian

I havent cut off the front hook yet because I am going to paint the head pink and put them on a turner. Then i will cut the front hook off.
The tube in the middle is yak hair, angel hair and light olive bick tail with a little flashabou. I wrapped it with mono so that the color would show through the body and have put on a couple coats of Loon hard head with the sparkles in it. It also has a foam core and is designed to be fished right on the surface but not quite a surface fly.

Thanks.
Great idea on the tube.
I don't fish popper much, I tend to live on the dark side wink

well fishing with a sinking line does have its advantages but there is someting about the wake formed behind a fast moving surface fly that just gets the blood boiling. Can't wait for some cohos to find their way to the beaches.

I'll fish those! Put a little spinner blade in front of em and they are deadly! wink
Good luck this weekend.
I'm headed to the OP right now. Not sure what I'm gonna chase yet, but there should be something around....
Cheers,
Neal
