Tom, I'll love to see your ballet impression when you get a Skok king at the spit on that 5! Dancing With The Stars got nothin on that!

Aint gonna happen. I am too smart to go bear hunting with a willow switch. I will be fly fishing until opening day and wont be picking up the 8 wt till this fall or winter. I wish I could put a face with some of your board names. I know who Smartie and Stonefish are but I cant put a face with some of you other guys who seem to know me. I am off to Florida on monday so good luck everyone. -Tom

I just picked up a Cabela's 9' #5 4-piece for this trip to Idaho. According to the seemingly erudite customer at Sportsman's I had to hit up for advice, it should work well for smaller river trout.

On a side note: If the guy who was working the fishing counter at Sportsman's in Lacey on Saturday evening is reading this, I'd like to say that you're a lazy piece of crap and I hope you get fired. I should have gotten the manager when you blew me off so you could go admire the new line of Mossy OakŪ on the other side of the store with your Bubba buddies. That $250 worth of flyrod, reel, flies & case, net etc., sitting there on the counter when you got back? Mine. Hope you had to stay late to put it all back. I guess no one should expect much out of a 45 year old who works retail anyway.

I know that guy, what a turd. I was trying to buy some bugs and looking for some input and he couldn't get off his ass. Just kept flapping his jaws to another about how many steelhead he has caught on the fly.

Sorry you had a poor service experience, but that sometimes happens in the big box store environment.

Should you find yourself with a fly fishing question, give a holler. I've been at it a while and enjoy helping others figure it out. It's not like I know all the answers, but when I don't, I often know someone who does.
