Back in 2001, all the rags, papers, etc made it seem like there were millions and millions of feral pigs on the OP and all one had to do was just get there and you'd be shooting all day long. I'm sure there are *some* feral pigs on the OP, but I seriously doubt that number is high. I've never seen a feral pig anywhere out on the OP. Ever. Dogfish will know. Heck, he probably killed one this morning and will post some great pig photos, including the yummy bacon cooking on the stove! Mmmm, bacon......

Don't waste your time. I know some pretty good hunters that put in alot of time trying to kill a pig on the O.P.
None of the guys I know, ever even saw one.

I have seen one. Only one. About 50-60 lbs. Upper Nooch. That was about 7 or 8 years ago. Nothing since, and I've hunted that area for years.

I've been pig hunting with my buddies about 3 times when I had nothing better to do (really, nothing better than scratching my ass). As far as I can tell it was just randomly driving, drinking, and shooting (at random objects), not necessarily in that order. This all took place in the southern Olympics (Upper nooch), where the feral pigs supposedly live.
I think it is just another story made up by some good ol boys to allow themselves to spend more time away from their old ladies, kids, and responsibilities. Seems to be working because I've talked to quite a few "pig hunters" while fishing summer runs.

There are a few north of Quinault but not enough to even go looking for. In about '98 I saw a large hog while hunting bear and the Parkies told me that they would see a few now and then.
Definately not worth gearing up for.

I have seen a few sows in the Green Lantern in Coplais. I think Superfly has seen them too. You usually find them sitting on the bar stools at the corner of the bar.
