Just curious to see how those who fished the opener fared today. I fished La Push yesterday and it was very slow. We were in contact with most of the other boats who were on the water as well and I would say that the average was 1 chinook per rod and no coho caught that I heard of. I had one bite mooching and was able to turn that into one small king for the grill today. I hope some of you got into some fish today. Good Luck.-TBJ

Very slow opener according to my contacts who fished it hard today.

Remember.....it's still early.

Fished hard from 4:30 til 12:30, one 19" hatch blackmouth(released) and five dungies on the way home. Saw one other caught and talked to a guy who had one aboard.
Snagged a downrigger ball at 110' in 175' of water. Not sure what happened, just gone with 50' of wire. Also had something break off my cutplug, leader and a few feet of 30# braid with out tripping the release.
Strange day, but good to get the new boat out and break it in. Still needs some blood though!!

Oh yeah, got a dog too ! Found some sort of setter/spaniel swimming about 500 yards out of Elliott Bay Marina headed for shore. It was sure happy to see us. How the f#%K do you lose a dog in the middle of the sound and not know it????
Ended up dropping it off at the fuel dock @ the Marina, they had seen it on a boat earlier when they fueled up.
Like I said, strange day. . .. . .

Fished it hard the morning of the 4th, nothing! Not even a drive-by. I saw no fish caught either. Its still early in the season though.

We got two, one eight the other 10. We picked up the first about 5:30 at 95' near the ferry dock and the second about 8:00 at 140' in front of Todds. We had another likely keeper on right after we caught the second but lost it trying to clear gear. I saw three other fish caught about the same size before we left about 9:30.

We also set one pot and had quite a few crabs in it but only two were legal. The fish and crabs made a nice contribution to the neighborhood 4th festivities.

Had a good 4th & 5th. Fri went 2 for 5 with 1 small blackmouth & 1 small silver caught. lost 1 nice line stripper & 2 smaller that would have been legal, couldn't keep em stuck. Released several shakers also. Sat went 3 for 4 with 1 12lbr, 1 small blackmouth & 1 small silver. Lost another nice line stripper when main line broke & lost all my gear & a nice fish. Caught a few crab both days.

it seems the guys who know how/where to fish the bay did decent. alot of guys i talked to at the ramp who were just out trying the new boat, or the first time fishing the bay didnt do so well.

last check i heard today was 10 kings for 30 boats, and some resident silvers mixed.

my boatless self has been down at spokane street bridge fishing all by my lonesome. seen a few fish in the morning at low tide. had one decent fish fallow my herring. other then that its dead down there aswell.

Fished Elliot Bay Saturday morning, didn't get any bites except for right after the tide change. My brother managed to to hook a 14 pound chinook but we missed 2 other good bites. When I cleaned it, it had a barely digested 6 inch herring in its stomach. We were fishing at 60 feet with cut plug behind a green glow e-flasher.
