Well, Just got home from the lodge and lots of Halibut, Ling and assorted Bottom fish along with a healthy batch of Sockeye from the mighty Situk River.
The Halibut fishing was awsome and the Sockeye got better every day with easy limits in the lower river. The fish are showing up a bit late this year as the river is much colder than normal.
The last 2 days of fishing had thousands swarming the lower river along with platoons of Kings, so it is in full swing now, wish I could have stayed another week!!!
The new boat ran great and put us on top of a bunch of fish.

Just check out the view from the flat ocean

Check out the size of the Skate we were catching!

Typical catch each day in 65 to 110 feet of water

Our group with Sharesse (GM) and our skipper, Erik. Great Halibut fisherman!

The river was in great shape and the weather was perfect!

The Sockeye on the Situk are some of the best fighting fish around!

Each day was not complete without a few beers (OK, Lots of Beer) at the lodge

Check out the Glacier Bear Lodge web site, there is a special running from July 15th through August 15th for a great Ocean trip on the new boat. There will still be plenty of Sockeye in the river then as well....
