Headed out with a bud in his Grady and the boys. Bar crossing both ways was a breeze. Ended up with 10 crab, and 3 fish for the box. Started out with a double on kings where Ryan landed an 18 lb'er, and I landed a 12lb. Personal best for Ryan (he's 9 now).

Slowed down for a few hours, then we picked up two singles that were both wild silvers. Changed spots and checked out one of the charter boats I know, turned away and we hook up on one rod, a screamer, so Hunter grabs the rod and we try to clear the other three. Triple! Landed two more silvers, one hatchery, and as Hunter gets his near the boat it heads into the idling motors and breaks off. It was a good fish.

Overall we had our fair share of chances, not red hot, but we were able to take home a few fish, and found 10 keeper crab in out pots when we pulled them. Fished north in 120-170 feet of water.

Thanks for sharing the report.

Sounds like a good time out there. Glad the bar crossing wasn't to bad for you guys.

Guess there is no substitue for the mass of a glass boat. I looked at the 46041 bouy observation last night and decided not to go. Yeah, I could go out there, but my beer can boat is not the best style for these conditions.

Coast Guard closed the Grays Harbor bar today....a few people had travelled a ways and were turned back...yesterday was a little sloppy...fishing really slowed down too...Thursday last week was the best conditions I have ever seen out there...we got some real nice fish as well.

Hopped on a charter yesterday morning and yes it was a little interesting across the bar, but only for about 15 minutes. About 18 anglers on the boat and about 27 kings boated. I was lucky enough to boat four out of the fist seven fish (14#, 16#, 17#, and 22#) to the boat and my fellow brethren were about to throw me over board chain, but I proved mortal towards the afternoon and couldn't buy a bite while others got hot. The slow reports leading up to the trip didn't match the action we were having yesterday. We primarily just fished on the otherside of the jetty about 1.75 miles out in about 40 feet of water.

Be safe out there, there were some huge rollers yesterday!
