Post pics of your best friend/filthy mutt here!! This is Penelope. A present for my wife because she begged and whined for a dog for years, she gets it and now I clean up after it, feed it, and take it to the vet.

Went to the shelter 3.5 years ago and got this guy when he was 6 mos old. He is #21 lbs and very quiet except if someone walks up to the door or near the house. Talk about a chick magnet..wouldn't trade him for anything! [email: ] [/email]

Well, the brown one is Brook (trout). She was the original. Words can't describe how good of an animal she was. The yellow one is Tule (salmon). Not too bad himself.
When I do solo floats my turnaround rig is an old Honda Spree type moped. Either dog would sit between my feet on the moped which made it pretty cool because I could take one of them with me instead of fishing solo. Pretty funny sight but nice to be able to have a fishing partner for the day.

This is Tanja (rhymes with Ganja). I got her full grown from my hippie neighbors. They were going to move to a commune near Calgary and couldn't have a big dog. She's a big sweetie and a great fishing partner, just getting a little too old to make all the trips.

Monty is cool. Never seen a dog like that.
I don't have a dog. Just 3 pet/wild mallards that fly in for corn, eat, and fly out.

F'n Enumclawonians..!
Ahhh, dogs in Washington State. A dog lovers Paradise.
I think Washington is the only state in the union where you will go to jail for 6 years if you kill a dog becasue it's a horrid expression of animal cruelty. However, if you kill a person while drunk driving you'll be out in 3-4 years.
Pff..

However, if you kill a person while drunk driving you'll be out in 3-4 Maybe after your 3rd or 4th fatality. Pretty sure the first two killings are free in this state.

I've eaten dog in Viet Nam and the Phillipines. In viet Nam it was served with noodles and veggies like a typical stir fry dish. In the Phillipines it was cooked on a hibachi type bbq and on a skewer. The woked dog was a lot less gamey and chewy than the bbq'd dog.

Sol was cool to set up a dog boarding with his folks and that actually started our friendship so the roast dog pic was fine. ps I don't feel bad for the drowned pitbull....I just don't like those things.

A dog is a dog no matter what it looks like. There is no breed that is inherently more or less vicious than the rest. The only thing that sets them apart is the temperament instilled in them by their humans and their physical size and strength. I would have liked to have seen some backward assed dirt tracking gap toothed bugger eating moron tied to the other end of that rope. Then there would be balance in this universe. Sol, you really need to have that looked at....

Here is my springer spaniel- Lola. I have to say she is hell on birds and at two years old has put any of the thirteen labs my family and I have owned to shame- as a hunter and a house pet. Folows me anywhere without direction... opens and closes doors... will run a baseball diamond... hasn't chewed anything that wasn't hers yet, not once...steady to flush and at two is ALMOST steady to the gun. She still has her moments there. I have never seen a dog work so hard. She will catapult into blackberrys so hard the she has to fight her way down to the ground and when she comes out her tongue is bleeding, legs etc.

Pitt Bulls are decent poeple dogs I guess but they get anywhere near my pup and it's ammo check time!!!!! And then the owners are dumb enough to wonder why no one wants them anywhere near their dogs, "but it's a really nice dog-really." Yea right

Irie- leave me hanging like that? How about just a topic? Memorable retrieve? Personality? OK here's the story: One of our dogs could turn doorknobs, flip open latches, climb anything, if it so much as saw a gun it would go super-hyper and start springing in place--like 6 feet high waiting for the shot so it could retrieve. One day we got home to find it had some how locked itself in the garage after opening the door. We go inside to find the brand new 5# Costco bag of milkbones laying torn open on the floor with one last green one still left inside. The dog looks like a tick about to pop. Bloated all out and happy as hell.. Here's the thing: That bag of dog treats was on top of a metal shelf 8 feet up. The step ladder had been left propped against the shelves. The dog didn't jump because nothing on the shelves was disturbed even the slightest. So we lock him in his kennel and go to sleep. The next morning I go to let him out and he comes running out of his kennel and *smack* right into a tree. The dog cannot see a thing. Blind as a bat. So my dad and I take his ass over to the vet, where he turns out the lights, shines a pen light in his eyes and says "Yep, he's blind alright." (now mind you we've forgotten all about the milkbones the day before) So he recommends us to a special doggie eye doctor up north so we load the dog back up, and drive 40 minutes up I-5 to a doggie eye doc who does the exact same thing: lights off, pen light, and she says the exact same thing. "Yep, he's blind alright. You're sure he could see yesterday?" So my old man's settling the $250 tab for the pen light treatment, I take Pokey (yes, his name was Pokey.) outside where he starts snuffling around like he needs to crap. So he lays one loaf. Average size turds...walks 10 feet lays another...5 feet, another...6 feet another...And repeats this TWELVE TIMES. Each pile a healthy good sized landmine. About the 7th or 8th crap, he starts getting more and more excited and moving faster and faster... and now I realize he's no longer running into thing anymore. So he finishes up his marathon of crapping, his eyesight's 100% good as new and I take him back into the clinic and break the news. The Eye Vet turns the light off, shines the penlight, and says "I'll be damned!" We got out of there before she had the mind to ding us another $250. It was a true case of not knowing whether to $hit or go blind. And it IS a true story.

There is a new one... a dog that ate itself blind after climbing a ladder. Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don't have any super dog stories for you in return. As far as personality- Lola packs her food bowl around the house with her reminding you when it is feeding time. If you ignore her first thing in the morning she will go get her bowl and repeatedly drop it at your feet, and if she does forget her bowl you just have to remind her. Fetch your bowl... she will tear around the house and come back with it excited of course. That is as close to begging as she gets. Like I said she closes doors. If you tell her to kennel she runs into her kennel turns around and noses the wire door inside of the hinge and closes herself in. I didn't teach her that. There is no question that she is smarter than I am capable of training.
