I'm not a Ron Paul supporter but I know a lot of people are. I'm curious as to what you will all do when it comes to voting time? Will you write in Paul's name?

The reason I'm even asking this is that I'd bet nearly 1/2 of the Ron Paul supporters will end up voting for McCain because he is a fellow Republican. At the same time, it seems to me that many of McCain's positions are diametrically opposed to Paul's.

I think they all moved to Idaho and want to rename the state "Libertaria"...or maybe that was Vermont...

I'll bet that 90% or more of them will vote for McCain...just like most of the Hillary supporters will vote for Obama...

Fish on...

Your question begs the question "why do we have only two choices?" It has become the de facto form of election, but it could be different. I don't care for either candidate, and at this point, I'd have a clearer conscience if I did write in Ron Paul. I don't agree with his stance that abortion should be illegal, but politically he seems pretty clean.

Maybe I should move to Liberteria. smile

This will be the first election in 20 years that I don't vote for a presidential candidate.... Unless I write in Ron Paul.

I'm voting Ron Paul so I can be one of those "don't blame me, I voted for Ron Paul" guys.

I see the movement gaining steam! (a bit late, I might add)

Yeah, there are a few things I disagree with RP about, like abortion, but the chances of that issue ever getting overturned is about zero so I'll let him have his symbolic stance.

His stand on government's role in society is what I applaud the most. "The Constitution was written to restrain government, never to restrain the people."

How well do the two primary candidates fit that statement? Ask yourself that.

or you might ask yourself who would RP vote for?

Who would John Wayne vote for?

Who would Pee Wee Herman vote for?

John Wayne would vote for Ronald Reagan (dead) and Peewee would vote for Dottie, (Not old enough).

If I can vote for myself, then RP can too.

Ron Paul should vote for Ron Paul.

If he believes in his candidacy, then he most likely thinks HE is the best choice. So why would he vote for anyone else?

Who cares who John Wayne would vote for?

Is who Jane Fonda votes for supposed to be of some interest to me?

I don't care who Brad Pitt, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Charleton Heston, Billy Ray Cyrus, Toby Keith, The Dixie Chicks, Rosie O'Donnell or any other hypothetical voter you name votes for.

I'm voting for Ron Paul, and they can all vote for whoever the hell they like.

Trying to decide who to vote for this year is like deciding which one of the " Golden Girls " you want to have sex with.

I guess you got to one of my points, Todd. I can't see how anyone that stands by Ron Paul's principles could vote for McCain? But most will. I'm not sure it would be an accurate statement to say there is the same degree of differences between Obama/Hillary supporters as there is between Paul/McCain supporters.

Sorry, no sale for me with McCain. I'll be writing in Ron Paul, as will a whole heap of folks not happy with what either party is trying to force on the US.

In WA state those who lost in the primary can not be written in & count. Ron Paul lost in the R primary so writting him will not count. CA accepts write ins no matter what, so Mikespike & Hank could vote Ron Paul & have it count. In WA we can vote Obama, McCain or Nadar (an independent I believe he has gotten on our ballot) if we want it to count. WA has strick rules, a canidate has to get a # of signatures in a very difficult way & pay the fees. So if you write in Hillary, Ron Paul, or Scooby Doo it won't count in WA (unless Scooby got the necessary signatures, filed the appropriate papers & paid the fee, Hillary & Paul are out cause they lost the primary). This is a method for the parties keep the independents out. It would be a real statement & kinda funny if Nadar got a good piece of this election. He is doing real good, hope he can be at the debates to bring out the truth, but has to get to 10% to be included, think he is at 8% now - everyone is still mad at Nadar about Gore but they shouldn't be that election was just plain stolen not Nadar's fault. www.votenader.com

I like Jesse Ventura's idea of having an option to vote "neither". I'll either write in Rob Paul or this will be the first time I don't vote.
