Quick report. We ran to PT again today after doing well there on Sunday. Got there at about 6:45 and never touched a fish until the tide turned around 8:45. Then it was pretty good fishing for the next couple of hours. We had doubles twice, lost several released a few smaller variety and ended the day with five nice nookies in the 10 to low teens range. Didn't see any of the larger variety that we were getting on Sunday. We quit one shy of limits for three but I was quite happy with what we had. We released anything under 10.

Stopped and picked up the crab pots on the way home and had some nice keepers in there for dinner. All in all a great day on the water.

No pics as I hardly ever remember a camera and won't waste my time with cell phone camera's.

All the fish came on flasher's and coyote spoons. My reel of choice for years has been Islander. Love the new MR 3. Have it mated to a Sage 12' that I built myself. One hell of a lot of fun fishing.

Todd, by the way I"ve been using the siwash sickle hooks you sent me on my coyote spoons and have been very impressed with the way the fish are hooked and the fact that they're staying hooked. They're damned strong as well. Thanks.

My good luck lure, an Ace-Hi fly which had caught almost all my kings got bit off Monday morning. Had a good fight going on a pretty big kinger, then the line went limp, reeled up my flasher, with leader attatched, but no Ace Hi. Sucker sawed me off. It must have taken it a bit deep in the mouth and during the fight wore through the leader, which was 40 pound ultra green. I've never been sawed off by a salmon before. But it was my producer lure. Gone, but surely not forgotten.

Nice fish!

We fished the same spot Tuesday night and there were only wild fish to be had frown

Glad to see some more Hatchery fish moving in...

Fished Dolphin this morning, saw 7-8 caught. We kept one hatchery and released a Native, not super hot farther south yet, although I haven't been out much due to honey does and kid stuff. Back out tonight.

thanks guys...its fun taking a bass fisherman out...this one took a whole lot of line off before he could even get it to slow down...he does not get that much line out when he is bass fishing...if i could just get him to like salmon a little more than bass...hahahha...not sure that will happen, but he is enjoying salmon fishing...c

Port Townsend was hot last (07/31/08)week for kings at mid channel,86 fish checked in from 11am to 3pm Sunday the 31st at the Boat haven. It's been down hill from there. Got one silver( fin clipped) at 120ft on the Pt.Wilson end on the 6th Most of us locals have stopped fishing the channel and are trying the beach for some action. Not much yet, a few local silvers. Tomorrow they close Area 9 for Kings. We did good over all but not as good as last year. This fin clip silver only this year until the 16th of Sept is PURE BULL.... Who came up with that is out of their mind.

I finally put one in the box!!! Got torn up by a chrome 14# EB brat Friday morning. Still a bit spotty out there though. Good reports one day followed by a couple of slow days???? Moved up to Idmirality for Sat/Sun but couldn't find any willing Kings there. I love that area up there and I already can't wait till next year!
