Ok- I love mine, its been a great camera. However my pinche nino dropped it the other day. (suprise)

Now the LCD screen in the back is half black half view finder.

Has anyone had any luck getting them repaired?

It still takes good pictures, see below. But you can't "frame" the image in the viewfinder.

In my experience with LCD products, the cost of repair meets or exceeds the cost of and upgrade & replacement.

In other words; The new, improved version is prolly $100 cheaper than what you'd spend on shipping, parts, & labor on fixing the old one.

Jason, just get a new camera.

That way you can keep taking pictures like those. The pic of the little girl is priceless.

Thanks- she is a great kid, so is her sister. Its not fair to blame the kids. If it was really that important to me I would not have left the camera on the kitchen counter.

And that fish actually bit the snap.

Throw that POS away, I HATE mine. I have no idea what to get, but think I'll follow Vedder's idea.

P.S. The kid's are great, I love nothing more than seeing kids out fishing. Every time someone posts a picture of a kid with a fish it reminds me of my daughter after she landed a salmon in Barkley Sound "dad that fish kicked my arse".

What do you hate about it?

Is it the time it takes to "click" ?

I am bummed, but I will probally buy another one. More quality shots.Third one is not that great, but the head is underwater.

For those of you that are going to toss those POS Optio"s, just toss them my way. I want the batteries. I have 2 Pentax cameras that I need 2nd batteries for 1 is an Optio and the other one takes the same battery.

Do a detailed comparison between the Optio W60 and the Olympus 1030SW.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=pentax_optiow60%2Coly_stylus1030sw&show=all

Honestly, I think at that point, it comes down to brand loyalty.

Personally, I have had more positive experiences with an Olympus over the Pentax cameras - especially in the water proof models.

(I do not own neither camera, nor have I used them.)

If I didn't want a waterproof camera, I'd look at the FujiFilm FinePix F100fd. thumbs
