Please don't forget to submit your Puget Sound summer crab catch reports before September 15. The following link will take you to the website which is supposed to open tomorrow (Sept. 2).

Last year, approximately 30% of the recreational crabbers returned their reports after the summer season. We need much better compliance to get a fair evaluation of our effort.

It looks like there may well be a $10 administrative penalty for those who don't report when they go to buy their 2009 licenses.

Thanks

After submitting my CRC report on-line (and printing out a copy of the verification note you get) I sent a request to WDFW suggesting that they assign a verification number to folks who report on-line. I received the following response today:

******************

I agree with you. We will definitely have to have a verification number system in place next year, since it appears likely that starting with 2009 cards, fines will be charged for not submitting the catch record. Thank you for the suggestion!

I also said that they need to change the license year for those who might win the drawing. I said I wasn't interested in a 2008 license.
